Comment:

She's a good professor and helps outside of class. There is 1 weekly assignment grade, 4 tests including final & 2 papers. The weekly assignments are either hw or quizzes. She usually gives hints when there will be a quiz but a lot of hw. They aren't super easy but she gives good feedback. Her grading is kind of tough and so are her tests.

She's a good teacher. You can tell she genuinely cares about you. Everyone in my class hates her but I've never experienced her to be particularly difficult. Elaborate as much as you can on her tests and you will be fine. She tries to trick you on the tests, be vigilant. You just have to learn how to do well in her class. A genuinely great teacher.

She's a nice professor and is always available during her office hours (I went to them A LOT) but her teaching style was pretty difficult to follow. She spends way too much time explaining simple concepts and never really gets to the point. I felt like I had to teach myself a lot of the information and class felt very pointless a lot of the time.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE ONE OF HER CLASSES IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Test are super hard and most of the time have material that hasn't been covered in class. Is one of those people that answers a question with another question. Gives soooo many quizzes, especially at the very end of the semester. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

SOOOO much homework! Nearly impossible to finish it all along with your other courses. She expects you to be able to put her class before all of the others. Her tests are really hard, they have material on it that we didn't even go over. She DOESNT teach. You literally have to teach yourself in this class. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Super hard class, however, she is a great person outside of class. She is willing to help, but she assigns an insane amount of work, even over break. Really tough grader and she tests on stuff we don't even go over in class.

As difficult as this class was, I learned more useful mathematics for teaching in her class than I have in any other class I have taken. There is a lot of work, but trust me in the end it is worth it.

I don't dislike Searcy personally. She's a pretty nice person, but this class was not something I enjoyed. She's very specific with the wording she wants, but you won't find out until after you get the assignment back. Make sure you do the homework. Most of it is "optional," but you won't do well if you don't look at it.

She's very specific, never lets you leave class early. She will seriously make up things to talk about until the last minute so you can't leave. She is nice, however if you look like you spaced out in class she will call you out. Wouldn't want to take her again but she wasn't completely awful. Assigns homework every night but never collects it.

My only complaints would be that her feedback was hard to read, but I know that she would talk about it if I had gone to see her. She was reassuring and helpful always. She prepares you well. I often went into the tests nervous, but left feeling very accomplished. I have always struggled with math, but I really enjoyed Searcy's helpful class.

I have loved Dr. Searcy's class! I usually HATE math, but she is super approachable and her class expectations are specific and clear. There is homework almost every night, but it's not hard and she rarely collects it, it just helps you in the long run. Take her if you can!!! This is the first math class in my entire life that I have enjoyed.

Dr Searcy is a great teacher. Sh e really challenges you. Studying REALLY HELPS. Email her if you have a question, she's very helpful. GO TO CLASS. She's really picky on tests so take your time. Some think shes mean and hard but I didnt and its an easy class.

Dr. Searcy knows her material but she is super harsh. If you have a question she makes you go look up the answer yourself and is not helpful, then she will put it on the test. She is super strict with grading and will mark down your work for not having it worded exactly like she wanted.

She does know what she's talking about but she's super harsh with grading and when you have a question in this class, she forces you to go look the answer up. And then she tests you on that information. There is never a clear answer. Be ready to work your butt off.

She knows what she is doing. People say they don't like her, but I highly enjoyed her class. She makes you think and i don't think people like that. If you like math and don't mind actually thinking, then it will be an easy class for you. She brings candy and tries to make class enjoyable.

Amazing class. She basically grills infront of the class as you present. It's great experience for dealing with student's questions. There's a lot of work, but it's not hard just meticulous. She grades hard to show you where you've messed up, but she gives you a solid grade.

She is by far the worst professor that I have had thus far. First of all, tests are extremely difficult and just like the quizzes she will teach some of the information after taking them. She has off. hrs but it is pointless to go because she will just look at you until you can explain how to do something...if i knew how to do it I wouldn't be ther

I have had Dr. Searcy 3 times (3910, 3920, & 3610). I learned early on that it is absolutely imperative to go to class & do all homework. She is helpful if you go to her during office hours. She can seem abrasive, but she really is a good person. She often wants you to learn things on your own which is frustrating, but I learned so much from her.

If you can avoid it, do not take this class with her! You will be soooooo frustrated the entire semester. She doesn't teach anything until after she's given a quiz on it and then treates everyone like 4th graders. If I hear that multiplication is repeated addition one more time, I'll go crazy! She's rude in class and very unfair. AVOID!

She is a very confusing teacher and expects you to teach a lot of it to yourself. She gives tons of quizzes which are hard because she doesn't explain how to do everything on the quiz until after you've taken it! She is a pretty boring teacher and her tests are hard. The one good thing is she sometimes gives group quizzes which is nice! DO NOT TAKE
