Extremely unorganized, She has 4 journals you write. There are only 2 exams ( essay style), these exams are open book. Take notes but, lecture is no use towards journals. She gets off topic easily. Expect her to ask your name numerous times. Besides that, she is very nice and funny, has a great perspective on life. Just an acquired taste.

McHugh is great. She is all over the place with her lectures and she is sometimes hard to follow, but her class is great if you go and pay attention. It is writing intensive and there are 2 exams both open book. Get the books and prepare for the final and midterm and you'll be fine.

Professor is disorganized, doesn't provide consistent information, doesn't return any papers so it's impossible to know where your grade stands. She comes late or not at all. She doesn't respond to emails. I left class annoyed every day. 0/10 I would never suggest this professor. Syllabus states attendance is worth 50 pts but she doesnt take it.

Lectures were pointless to go to but it gives you a good background for the journal assignments you have to write. Only two exams and both are essay exams. You don't need to read the required textbooks for lecture b/c she often gets off the reading list but you do need the books because you use them for the journal assignments and essay exams.

I would not recommend that anyone take Dr. McHugh as she is often late to class, disorganized in her lectures and grading, and biased/inconsistent. I initially received a B in her class and after asking for a grade report, it was discovered that I deserved an A. Question her grading. Exams are essays. Attendance not mandatory but encouraged.

I had her for two different classes in the same semester. IT. WAS. MISERABLE. She's never on time (10+ minutes every day) and then she will actually keep you over her allotted time because of it. Very disorganized so keep track of your own grade. I learned halfway through the semester that I didn't even have to show up to get a good grade.

Class is an absolute bore. She gave attitude to the class when we would ask questions about assignments and due dates. She is unorganized and ten minutes class. There was only a midterm and final, and you can use your book to answer 2 essay questions given in advanced. She also lets you share books if you share books with a classmate.

She's very unclear in her direction and deadlines with assignments. A few times I came to her after class and asked for clarification and got nothing but attitude and felt degraded. I really wouldn't recommend this professor. Take psych 410 for your requirement.

If you don't participate, don't expect her to know who you are. She's very helpful and has a good sense of humor. I don't remember her ever getting mad in class or yelling at anyone. She usually just gives a midterm and a final, in addition to five papers. There are opportunities for extra credit too!

She's one tough, sassy lady. Everything is easy if you come to class and pay attention. She only gives a midterm and final, but there are a lot of papers along the way. If you do all the work, you will pass, easy.

This worst teacher I have ever taken. She has no concern with studentnd their grades at all. Material is never returned, and shes gives you a long study guide but never included what was on it on the exams. I wld avoid this class!!!

Dr McHugh has a wonderful sense of humor. Class is more like a discussion than pure lecture. Journal assignments mean that she wants you to relate your experiences to theories learned in class. Exams are open book essay and she really does cover the material in our readings. I enjoyed this class so much I want to take her for another course.

UGH! Do not take her! So unorganized, never returns any of your work, only 2 exams and they are nearly imposssible because you have 14 possible essays & 3 textbooks (that you barely use). This class is definetely alot of work, especially because she marks points off for everything! Only good thing is there are bonus opportunities- TRY TO AVOID!

Yes, she is unorganized and jumps around a bit. However, she is easy to follow if you go to class and take notes. She's fun to laugh with and honestly, she's is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've had at IUP. Listen to what she has to say, the things you learn are amazing. She really opens your eyes, no matter if you're a male or female.
