She is a rather sweet lady and a very easy grader; however, her lectures are extremely boring. She will put you to sleep within the first half hour (if you can withstand that long). Very easy. No homework, just 2 in class essays, 2 out of class essays, and 2 quizzes. Nothing to it, just show up cuz everything is done in class. Gives many opportunities to improve essays. Guaranteed B and very possible A

Newlin is so funny in her expressions ("humoring you" smile)! She reminds me of an old school mum, but she has a good nature. whoever took for the 101 class is suffering from 101 boredom, 'cause Newlin can be interesting, just get her to talk to you! I learned a lot in her class and thought the material was very interesting.

well her class is so boring. she is really unclear of what she wants us to write about. she get very mad on small little details. Dont take her class she will not give anyone an A even if you deserve it. Dont listen to the other people. She is a pretty good teacher, but she is sooooooooooo boring. The class really drags, and i often found myself staring at the clock. She knows what she is doing, it is just that she doesn't make the class enjoyable. You will definately learn from her.

Very smart teacher and very easy. Tons of pop quizes, papers, readings, and tests. Though boring, I learned quite a bit from her class I would recommend her to anybody. The first couple of weeks are brutal, but once your through, you will not regret taking her class.

Decent teacher,mulitple approaches to teaching literature,required oral report(snore). Really good with Literature, not so good with poetry. Pop quizzes, but you may use the book. Overall a class that will get you to know American Lit III.

she was a good professor. just do your work and you'll do fine. only thing is that you cannot miss 5 classes or you'll recieve automatic "F". she gives quizzes but most of the time allows you to use notes and book.
