I had Dr. Butler for summer school in Shanghai. she is a great professor for American Government. She prepared for every classes beforehand, also made informative PPTs. She is a bit tough when it comes to exams, but if you go to classes everyday, you will be fine. A very nice lady overall.

Bulter does take you down if you do not agree with her; she also sometimes shows movies instead of lecturing. That being said, I have respect for her after she caught someone cheating. She made the person stand up in class and read from his paper. She then pulled up the same paper he was reading, off of the internet, and displayed it behind him.

Butler the bulldog - she's tough and not really fair. She loves some students and tolerates others. She is very knowledgeable about her topics, though. I would stick with old man Hadley if I were you - he's just as liberal, but has gotten easier in his old age.

Butler has two sides. On one hand, she is knowledgeable and uses a lot of source material (which is good). But, on the other hand, if you have a different opinion than she does she WILL lower your letter grade. Second, she uses unhelpful videos.
