Definately knows what he's talking about. Informative and helpful if you ask him for help. Very standard class. 3 papers. 3 tests. Not too difficult. Would reccomend a class with him.

Comment:

Very mixed feelings on this guy. Clearly knows his stuff but is very impersonal with the class. Waltzes in, lectures for an hour, and leaves. Sometimes he'll spring a suprise question on someone so pay attention and bring your Bible. Only 5 papers and 3 tests for grades so don't mess up. Gave a C on an F exam and a B- on an A paper. Very confusing.

One of the most informative teachers I ever had at Stonehill. Taught you things most teachers in his line of work would never mention. Awesome guy, even better class. Thanks Prof Coogan!

Comment:

Coogan is a good guy and does know a lot about the Bible, however he is very in your face when asking a question and will often ask questions that are not clear. The short papers were a pain to do and the final large paper was long and difficult. I only started to like the class near the end when class time was focused on class discussion.

Professor Coogan is a great professor. He knows the Bible better than anyone and he's one of the most intellectual professors here. He takes his stuff seriously and often lectures, but he's a classy guy and really tries to help his students learn.

I am the kind of person that either has respect for a professor/teacher, or doesn't. Coogan earned my respect. He knows his stuff. It is pure lecture, with some class participation. No group projects or anything. 3 papers, 3 tests. Straightforward, but at least you know what to expect.

My favorite professor this semester. Coogan is awesome! His classes do get boring but only 3 papers and 3 tests and he's not that hard. Some of his stories are interesting, and the fact that the class met twice a week and he never kept us longer than an hour was great! I highly recommend him!

Amazing Professor. Kept me interested and focused for the entire 1:15 min. class. Knows everything about his topic and discusses everything completely. I wasnt excited to take the course before hand, but after taking it I wouldnt trade the learning for anything! GREAT CLASS!
