He talks a lot about how much money he has, so I guess he knows how to deal with finances... Hard tests, and not the most fun gen ed you'll ever take, but he gives nice curves on the exams so I did fine overall.

Professor Decosmo has the intangible quality to motivate and inspire you to be the best student you can be. Attendance is a must if you want to succeed. Homework is necessary to gain a better understanding of the material in its practical use. If it weren't for his motivation and inspiration, I would not have become a CPA.

I liked Decosmo as a person, but not as a professor. His lectures were boring and his exams are extremely hard. I spent most of the semester reading out of the book trying to teach myself the material. He will help you if you need help. As long as you put in an honest effort and he sees it, you will pass the class. Curves are nice.

Nice guy but terrible teacher. Do not buy the book. Reads off power points for each chapter and the PP are posted online. Doesn't take attendance not necessary to go to class since he posts the PP online. Thats all he ever does. Exams are terrible. 50 multiple choice 50 TF. Basically failed everyone but managed to pass class. Had to take for gened

This class isn't too bad. I am not very familiar with this kind of material and still was able to pull off a B+ with some studying. Definitely read the book and take notes on the book because he uses the test bank. Very friendly, cool, funny guy. Makes the lectures funny. Also gives a very nice curve to all tests and if you have good attendance.

Fair professor, show up, take notes, read the material and you'll pass. He also offers lots of tutoring hours and is always willing to help. Lectures normally end early, he has reviews before each test. 4 tests, lowest is dropped, and final is not cumulative. Tests also normally get a curve of about 10%.

DeCosmo's class is pretty easy - print out the power points and show up for the lectures. I took notes each class. He has a review day before each exam where he tells you exactly what will be on the test and each exam has about a 10 point curve. Just study, go to the class, and you'll do fine! He's really helpful and good at explaining the content.

This class was fairly easy because I went to class and studied a little bit. He is fair, he puts all of his notes on the slides, which you can print out. He is very easy if you just listen and study a little bit. When he grades he always has a pretty big curve, and is very reasonable.

This class needs back ground knowledge. I think it is kind of hard and I dont know much about taxes and stuff. He's funny and lets you out of class early everyday but you will deffintly need to print out the notes because he talks very fast and you will need to study.

He is a very approachable guy, not only with questions about the material, but also their real-life applications. He gives tons of examples using his own life, which some people find annoying but it shows why personal finance is important. His tests are not rocket science as long as you read over the chapters in the book!

Comment:
I took this class because I was interested in Personal Finance. The professor is experience in the subject matter because he's a CPA and has his own business. The downfall is that he uses test banks with over 100 questions for a 75 minute class with trick questions. He's basically looking to retire from ESU soon and doesn't care about the students

Decosmo is a cool guy & he knows what he's talking about, but I don't think teaching is his forte. Don't get me wrong I learned a lot, but not anything that would help me do well on the exams. valuable life lessons? sure but if ur trying to get an A (like I was) don't take this class. unless, of course, ur good at this sort of thing...

Nice guy. Class is hard. Content in book is simple, but test is worded confusingly. Tests are long. no homework. 3 tests and a final. takes attendance. Talks about how much money he has and is a Keynesian economist. read the textbook.

Nice guy if you have questions, but isn't clear. Very broad on test questions. Notes go right along with the text, so if you read the text and listen some of the time, you'll do fine. Don't expect to get an A though.

He is a nice guy, but horrible teacher! He stands in the front and mumbles non-stop his lectures! He talks so fast and his test are impossible. If you go to him for help he has no soul.
