I am a straight-A student. I decided to take his HST 112 course during the Winterlude session to walk the same time as getting my degree. Ultimately, I decided to drop the course because in just the first couple assignments, I realized he was unclear and critical without being constructive. And I am a Writing and Rhetoric major.

Pretty standard history 100 level professor. Similar lecture grading style as HST 101 and HST 102. Tries to keep lectures interesting with his humor. He was funny usually. Don't need textbook, but do need "Under A Cruel Star" book. You can skip a few lectures here and there and still be OK.

Professor Ebner is awesome. His lectures are enjoyable, interesting, and he makes the hardest material incredibly easy to grasp. The TAs are usually unclear, but he does a great job making sure everyone's on the same page in lecture. Definitely take his class.

The class was pretty easy and interesting. Not a lot of work and only two tests and two papers with a few small assignments in between. Professor Ebner was an awesome professor. He was really funny in class and was very helpful if you needed help. Definitely recommend this class and Professor Ebner.

Ebner is a fantastic professor. I have taken 3 classes with him and enjoyed every one. He really knows his subject and is able to make it fun and exciting. He has a perfect balance between learning and fun taking small breaks for fun stories or interesting facts. Exams are easy as long as you pay attention and study. Highly recommended!!

Ebner is one of the best professors at SU however 315 is very hard. Doing well means putting in a lot of effort, but for Ebner you kinda want to put the effort in. Im a history major and received a B+. Hard class, but definitely worth it. Take Ebner, hes the man

Don't listen to the below comment. Ebner is a fantastic teacher who has very interesting lectures. There is a lot of reading, if you don't keep up with it, you won't do well. If you actually read the material - the class is fairly easy.

Great professor! He is really funny which makes his lectures enjoyable. He does attendance randomly, he typically likes to do it halfway through the class so that the people who were just going to sign in and leave would have already left. He gets a kick out of that.

random attendance so you have to go. Dont sign in and get up or come in at the end to sign in, he will catch you. Sometimes he waits till the end and gets a laugh that people left 5 minutes in. It all depends on the TA for the level of difficulty.

Took both HST 112 and HST 335 with him and loved both classes. He makes the material easy to understand and entertaining. 335 was dependent on reading, 112 was not at all. Easily the best professor I've had at SU.
