His class was semi interesting. The readings were semi interesting and kind of confusing. Attendance is not manditory, you can come about 4 times and pass his class if you're that good (; lol. Buy the books and read them with understanding because you will be confused on the test if you dont. The test were also confusing btw.

A very intelligent man, and a good professor. He can be a bit longwinded at times, but he's almost always saying something interesting. He has high expectations of his students, which many in my class dislike, but I wouldn't call him a "hard" professor. All he asks is that you understand the material.

I really enjoy this professor, it can be a little dry at times but I have learned a lot from him. He is pretty open to opinions of students and will cut you some slack if you put enough effort into his class. Plus he lets you out early. Great teacher, really interesting.

Sometimes he's nice and helpful, other times he's incredibly rude and arrogant. He's intelligant and teaches interesting courses, but sometimes he talks so much and has such a big ego it's not worth it. I'm glad I took his class, but I think I'll pass on him in the future.

He is very witty and clever, and respects your opinion. I felt I could be completely honest in his class and that he would appreciate that. He made me feel good about my writing and offers helpful feedback. His class was interesting and challenging. He can be a little superior, but he is a good teacher. Plus his voice is very pleasant

I've had him before but I liked this class much, much more. Sure, he talks a lot... but he knows his stuff. It's really not as painful as people pretend. I found this class to be super easy and extremely educational -- a great combination.

I had Professor Eldridge my first semester at HSU for Postcolonial Lit. I understand some of the critical comments below, but looking back, he has a wealth of knowledge to offer even though I was only able to consume some of it. He's one of my faves.

He's far from an intellectual and nothing will go over your head. It's just that he's so damn smug about thinking that he's smarter than everyone else. He's quite good at putting on a front. Go talk to him and you'll get a stream of **** as long as the Nile. He's more annoying than anything else. You'll probably have to take him during your freshman year, but after that, you should be in the clear.

Definitely the best professor I had at HSU, and also my major advisor. He's an intellectual, and some people will never find a way to like that. He might talk over your head once in a while. If you have trouble in his class, or even if you don't, sit down and talk with him. You'll find out that he's genuinely interested in you, no matter who you are. He has the geniune desire to cultivate his students' minds, and if you let him, he'll do a damn good job. Don't half-ass it. It's worth it not to.

Mike is a self-important prig who talks way too much. He needs to develop his communication skills as he treats his class as a one-way conduit. That's not good when your job is to develop critical thinking skills. Avoid beyond freshman year.

There is a TON of reading for this class. He has very high expectations and does not give A's easily. Sometimes class discussions were boring. He is super organized and has awesome websites for his classes with extra information. He is a very smart man!

Incredibly verbose but encourages good discussions. Disorganized. Unpredictable grader. Some people change majors after taking his class. After passing over his proving grounds, students are treated like colleagues.

Eldridge is a very likeable, nerdy, professor. Although this class required a TON of reading and half the time I couldn't get through it by class time - Eldridge is there for u to kindly answer any q's you've got and is really dedicated to teaching current, interesting topics in English.
