A genius for the academic side of theater. You'll read 3-5 plays a week, covering a broad theater history, and lectures give historical and political context of works. ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING material! He is clearly in love with the subject. If you track him down and prove yourself, he is willing to give you time and opportunities to delve deeper.

I love Dr. Evenden, but he is not a perfect professor. Great lecturer and gives a different perspective to the plays we read that would have never crossed my mind. Given his knowledge and past accomplishments, he is a great professor, but he lost 9 out of 15 of my assignments, almost risking my grade. Be ready to have backups of your assignments!

history of drama and theater 2 i think evenden is one of the best lecturers i had in my whole time at emory. i was not a theater or english major. he is very dynamic and really knowledgable. the exams are pretty straight forward and fair, as long as you study the dates, etc. that he gives you
