Dr. Lawson is straightforeward in all he does. If you attend 95% of the classes and labs (a big part of your grade) and read the chapters before hand (needed for pop quizzes), you will do just fine. The tests are a little tough, but if you have read, came to class, looked through the powerpoints, his typed notes (provided via blackboard), you pass!

So based on some more recent reviews I was super scared to take this professor, but he was great. Unclear material? That's a big joke, everything I needed was handed to me on a test review sheet. Those that get good grades have retaken classes? Not true, if you put in effort his class is more than doable. Seriously, it's college, not high school.

Tests are all essays, you have to study a lot and listen and take notes during lecture. He has pop quizzes once a week that are 10 questions and are really difficult. However, he is very knowledgeable in Microbiology and has good life related stories. Be prepared to study!

While this class was very difficult, Dr. Lawson is fantastic teacher and will prepare you well for the tests. If you want to learn, this is the class for you. You will learn more with Dr. Lawson than most other teachers.

He is NOT very specific on what he wants on the test. You would have to know the ENTIRE book inside and out in order to get at least a B. His lectures are not very helpful. His tests are hard and it is not very clear why he would take off points on certain answers. Get ready for a mind-reading game for exams and quizzes.

The guy can be a little gruff, but he knows his stuff. He makes it difficult for everyone so that they learn the details, not just the general knowledge. If you actually want to learn something, this is the professor you need to take.

My Favorite Teacher by far. Yes his class is hard. But, He really does prepare you for upper division classes and in the long run you are better off by taking his class. The way you study for him is how you will be tested in the nursing program. this is a class where you will learn and retain for future use.

Dr. Lawson is very helpful and funny. Tests aren't easy but far from impossible. Just know his notes and you will do awesome! He gives you a text outline of the notes, but you will want to add in extra notes to that too. A lot is discussed in each lecture, so don't miss; missing a micro lab is a dumb thing to do. Not hard to get an A in the class.

My favorite teacher by far. He is tough. But if you are going into the nursing program no other teacher can possibly prepare you like Dr. Lawson. If you want to succeed take Lawson if you just want to skate pass take "the other one"

This class is hard and he intentionally means for it to be. You have to constantly study the notes because he gives a random quiz weekly. An article is due every Friday. And the tests are very critical in thinking. Its not "What is this?" You write out EVERYTHING-no multiple choice. In lab, he goes way too fast and doesn't like questions. Good luck

Very good teacher! Explains subjects very well. Posts all notes and studyguides for test. You have a quiz every week and tests are hard! You do have to work hard and study to pass this class it isn't easy.

My favorite professor so far. He expects a lot out of his students, but he makes sure you understand the concepts. He is engaging in class and always well prepared. He even adds in humor when he can to lighten the mood. I would recommend anyone to take his courses.

Awesome teacher. Makes hard topics easy and is very helpful. Lots of assignments and gives study guides for exams. STUDY THE GUIDE, it is very useful. Know the material because sometimes he words it differently on the exam than he did on the study guide. You will learn a lot though and it's fun.

LOVE HIM. he's very easy to understand. when lecturing, he calls on the class a lot to answer so you're always involved. the labs are fun as well. attendance isnt mandatory, however if you miss one day its like missing a week in another class. he makes class fun though, you wouldn't want to miss.
