Comment:
The instructor leads his students to believe that this will be a laid back, enjoyable course that has easy exams and papers focusing on the films viewed in class. But his lectures are minimal, unclear, and useless for doing well on exams and papers, and his grading is harsh. The high grade in this class is a B--nobody gets an A. Look elsewhere!

Class is easy, nothing but watching movies. Take notes, when he writes on the board reviewing the movies. That'll help on the midterms & finals. One midterm is take home, second is a presentation, and final is take home. Easy enough, but follow the intrusions and you will do well

This professor treats his creative writing course (at Canada College) like a writer's workshop, which I liked. I learned a lot more from reading other student's stories and hearing his comments than reading a textbook or writing assignments. He's fantastic and easy to work with, quite approachable. Highly recommended!

Pretty cool class. Do not buy any of the books. We never used them. Take notes after watching the movies because you will have to write about them. I did my hardest but I got a B. not super easy but very interesting class.

Third time I've had this professor. Great experience each time; will admit he has rough exterior but really nice professor. Classroom is workshop setting, never used textbook. Great feedback and interaction with class. Turn in two stories, respect the others and participate. Would take another class with him.

A great professor for serious people. A great class to take- one of the only professors for creative writing I like. He genuinely wants the students to succeed. All he wants in return is attendence respect and a bit of participation. But all he does as far as grading is based on the two stories you turn in.

Very easy course. Two stories at least five pages long that will be read out loud by the professor in front of the class. Show up to be respectful to other students and hear their stories. Pretty boring occasionally, I would stay away if you're looking for any real instruction. You get good feedback from professor and peers but that's about it.

Doesn't give you any feedback, ever. The lectures are sparce. You watch films he likes, not important ones, and he doesn't seem very class concious or aware of diversity issues. Take film class somewhere else.
