Dr. Spikes is the most caring teacher I have had. His class is boring but super easy! He is very traditional in that he does not use blackboard at all. As long as you go to class, pay attention, and take notes on what he says, you are sure to make an A! He never puts anything on his tests that he did not talk about in class.

Spikes is my favorite English professor at ASU. Take good notes and show up (every time) and you'll easily get an A. The tests/papers come straight from class discussion. However, he always finds a way to relate everything back to love and/or sex. ((Awkward)) Take Spikes if you can!!

If you have a question, ask it DURING class. He will gather his things and run off after he dismisses class. Otherwise, you will need to go to office hours. Take notes while he is talking because his handwriting is impossible to read. The textbook is necessary for class, so you can follow along, but I didn't read any of the stuff outside of class.

If you go to class and take notes, it is a very easy A. He repeats himself a lot, so it was easy to take notes. He has two kinds of tests: (1) multiple choice + free-answer and (2) essay. Taking notes is ESSENTIAL to passing his tests. He does not use blackboard and does everything in class, which I loved. Book is necessary for an A. Nice guy!!

TAKE DR. SPIKES! His class was my favorite class throughout my college education. He was knowledgable on his subjects and readings and was enthusiastic when lecturing. Everything on his exams came straight from class discussions. He was thorough and gave major points for attendanceparticipation @ the end of the semester. HE'S GREAT!!

Dr. Spikes is very interesting. His class was easy if you read and pay attention to his ideas. He grades based on his own thoughts so if you pay attention to his lectures you'll pass easily. He's really into what he teaches and I would definitely take him again. Just make sure you know what his ideas about the works are.

I took Dr. Spike for Lit II and it was seriously one of the easiest classes I've taken. Attendance is mandatory, so go to class. And if you go to class, there's really no way you can't make an A. He discusses everything in class. I didn't read any of the literature outside of class time and still did wonderful on the exams. Take his classes!!

Dr. Spikes is a great professor, took him for Lit 2. Scales down his tests every time. Didn't read one piece of literature all semester because his lectures are very thorough and consistent with the tests. Attendance is mandatory, it's 10% of the class. Go to class and take good notes and you will get an A.

Heres the thing about Spikes if you want an easy A than take his classes. But he is annoying and I hated his class. But the work as easy as long as you are in class. If you want a good grade however just repeat his opinion on tests and essays. If its not his opinion he will give you a bad grade.

Great professor! Attendance is a must, and you use your textbook everyday. Keeps you for the full time and never cancels class. Keeps class entertaining and fun. He is easy to understand, and explains the literature in detail. Tests aren't hard as long as you come to class and pay attention.

Spikes is a pretty cool guy. He likes what he teaches and if you do well on what few tests and papers he gives out you'll be fine.He repeats himself A LOT. and this man spent 8 weeks on Haiku!It was torture! I'm not sure if he really knows how to teach this class. He basically just picks poems he likes, not ones from different movements or styles.

This class was so easy! I absolutely despise reading but I didn't have to read a single page! He goes over everything in great detail so you don't even have to worry about reading. He does like for you to come to class though. He gives attendance quizes just about every day!
