Comment:

Dr. Ramsey is great professor to have for CAS 100A. She is clear and concise with her grading criteria, gives valuable feedback, and even has workshop days to look over your speech/ideas before the due date. The textbook chapters are a little long, and the quizzes challenging at times, but as long as you put some effort in, you'll do well.

Phenomenal professor! She really cares about her students helps them achieve success as much as they want it. CAS 298 really helped prepare me for job interviews and grad school. She is a fair grader and makes students earn their grades, after all it is a college class. I highly recommend taking any of her classes if you want to better yourself.

Good teacher. Kept everything short and simple. Most of the time you are at home typing your speech and getting ready to present. She comes to class every day but you only show up if you need help on your speech. Only time it is mandatory to be there is when everyone is presenting. In other words if you show up and do a nice speech then you pass.

Dr. Ramsey is a really good teacher. She incorporates many REAL LIFE applications into her class and is very helpful. I took the 3 week intensive summer version. Even though it was a lot of hard work I feel like it was more beneficial than a semester long class (that could just be filled with a lot of extra assignments).She always grades unbiased

Absolutely fantastic. She pushed me far past my comfort zone. In the (sometimes) dreary climate of academia, Dr. Ramsey is a refreshing breath of enthusiasm and passion. This class was a lot of work, but I learned and engaged on a wonderfully deep level.

Took the 3-week summer intensive version. Although I've been eating and sleeping speech class, Ramsey has made is somewhat interesting. She has a definite passion for the subject and shows applications of it in her lectures 3 grades speeches for this class. She's pretty rough on the grading, but is willing to work with you to improve.

Dr.Ramsey is extremely strict on grading compared to all of the other speech professors. I would NOT recommend taking Ramsey. For most students speech is an easy A, for this class you have to work very hard for even a B on a speech. She's a nice person, just a ridiculous grader.

I thought Dr. Ramsey was a very good professor. She really knows her stuff. I learned a lot of communication concepts in this class that I did not know before. She really improved my public speaking. I improved on every speech and went from getting a C+ on the first speech to getting an A+ on the final speech. I highly recommend Dr. Ramsey!

She is an excellent teacher. She really knows her subject. She strives to make sure her students understand too. She is helpful and fair. She supplies students with study guides before the test that has all topics included on the test. If students do the study guide, they will get a good grade on the test.

You learn not to be afraid of feminists, and surprising things about gender. Practice speeches in front of a mirror, or use the speech tutor, but DON'T drop the course. You get to do the speech over again for a better gr. She even did some research for me when I thought I couldn't find enough info.
