Comment:

Though she is a sweet lady, I think she is passed her teaching prime. She is highly disorganized, goes on random tangents, and is not really understanding if you have personal problems. She doesn't actually teach French, more just about culture and life which is cool and all but I wanted to improve my french. She asks Q's, then interrupts you.

Mme. Langford is a nice lady but an absolutely awful teacher. She talks about nothing of relevance for the entire class period and expects you to understand what she is teaching without writing any explanations on the board. Such a waste of $4,000 if you actually want to learn French. She just makes it more confusing.

Langford is a great person. She's very interesting and you can tell that she's lived through a lot and inferred a lot out of what she's experienced. Yes, she's disorganized and often her assignments aren't clear, but the class is fun, and she is hilarious. She isn't afraid to get edgy with what she says. Definitely take her if you're laidback.

Dr Langdon really knows her stuff. While she does tend to go off on topics regarding french culture and the like, they are often filled with good information. Tests aren't too hard, but you don't get a lot of time. If you smile and are engaged in class, she will like you. Getting her to like you will help your grade!!

Dr. Langford is a highly accomplished literary analyst who has much to teach you if you are willing to listen and engage. She is an expert in her field and although her tangents may be found as distracting, there are gems of wisdom in the majority of what she has to say. Contrary to other comments, she welcomes and adores discussion.

She is, according to those who enjoyed her class and people like me who wanted to die, insane. Her class is a lecture class on her views of US/French society and discussion is kept to a minimum. With a small class, I expected to learn and discuss daily in French. Instead, I found a woman who sees her teacher evaluations and ignores the suggestions.

Madame gets a bad rap. Yes, she does tend to ramble and talk about herself. Yes, you do have to really work hard and teach yourself to keep up. Yes, it's a language and so it's a lot of work. But Madame is extremely cheerful and makes going to class fun. She knows a lot, and teaches you about the language and about life. Very helpful if you need it

I failed the midterm and final, and still got a C in the class. She never has grades done on time, she barely remembered the names of our 12 person class, and she spends most of class just telling stories. But sit through it, just listen and laugh. Don't take her if you want to learn. But I showed up, did most of the work, and she passed me.

This is a really easy class..mme langford is really funny and we spend a lot of time in class just talking for fun about really random topics. her quizes are pretty easy if u pay attention in class and take notes. we had to write 2 french essays which were super easy because she tells u 2 use word and sends you a site to check ur grammer.

Ah, pauvre Madame. She tries, she really does, but nothing is ever achieved in her classes. I have had 3 with her now, and my franglais is much improved, which is more than I can say for my French. Alas, you really don't have much of a choice if you're a French major, she's one of 2 teachers.

Sometimes unfocused, hard to pay attention all the time. Tests were very difficult, but not unfairly so. Takes personal pride in each student, and after cutting down the class size, she won't allow you to fall behind. Always available outside of class.
