Ismail is so funny and really tries to liven up the class with his humor. You don't really need to read the textbook as long as you show up to class and pay attention. His instructions can seem unclear, but he literally gives you a list of everything to study for the midterm and final. He wants students to do the best they can.

Dr. Ismail is very unorganized and does not give points easily. His grading seemed very arbitrary. His instructions are confusing and very scattered.

*Sociology of Islam course* Dr. Ismail is a very nice person but his lectures were a bit scattered and difficult to follow at times. Gave us 3 out of the 4 quizzes, all were very easy. One short paper on a field trip, one long comparative paper, and a final exam. Go to class simply because the videos he plays will come up on quizzes/final.

Dr. Ismail is a hilarious professor - he has a big heart and a passion for Islam. The class is a pretty easy B+, but you gotta work to get an A. Some of the material can be difficult if you're not familiar with the religion, but overall I found it really informative. My only gripe - I wish he gave clearer instructions and expectations.

He basically tells you what he expects, and tells you what you should go over for papers, and exams. We had one group project, was easy. He does give several readings but most of the time were short and explained in class. He's funny, people complain about him but could only be if they don't go to class. Gives a little of extra credit sometimes.

He has a great personality and his stories are hilarious. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests and quizzes. As long as you read you should do fine on those. The group project is a huge part of your grade. Don't wait until the last minute to do it.

He is an easy professor, 3 quizzes, 1 group project with a 6 page group essay and presentation, not a lot of homework makes you read some articles you can get by without them besides for exams, one 5 page essay

Professor Ismail's quizzes can be very difficult, fortunately they do not count for much. He speaks with an accent but can be easily understood. The readings he assigns are important to class, but you can get by without doing them. He has a tremendous sense of humor and is one of the funniest professors I have had at TCNJ.

Deviates from syllabus very often, unclear with directions for assignments and quizzes/tests. Overall a nice guy, but class is dry and during lectures he does not clarify topics he is trying to discuss.

Professor Ismail is very confusing with his grading and disrespectful. When you try to present a contrasting viewpoint, he shuts you down and mocks you. There were many times when I left the class extremely mad or upset. He also refuses to justify the grades on the paper and the project. One of my worst experiences in the classroom at TCNJ.

Stats is not my subject. sometimes a bit unclear, but he is very willing to help. Come willing to learn and prepared, because the class goes by quickly. Limited grade opportunities, but he is very fair. A great guy with a delightful personality. Take advantage of his office hours and tutoring if stats is not your class.

A great teacher with an infectious personality. Has an accent, but it does not affect overall class. Make sure you do readings because they show up on quizzes and tests. A great class; he really loves what he teaches. I would definitely recommend.

I took stats 3 times before i finally got the grade that i needed for my major. I hate math and he really helped me alot. If you do not understand something, he's always available to help. I don't know if he still does it, but he let my class write the needed formulas on index cards for exams and quizzes and that really helped.

The accent isn't bad, you can def. understand him. The work isn't difficult if you actually put forth some kind of effort. He's opinionated but not malicious and his stories crack me up. He's a funny old man and I thought he was a pretty good teacher

Ismail probably isn't one of the best professors, to be honest, but his personality is so infectious that you have to take at least one of his classes. Plus he tells funny stories and has class parties a lot. If you're looking for a serious intellectual class, don't bother, but if you need an easy, fun A, go for it.
