You won't have to worry about taking this prof, as she retired but I must say this was by far the hardest Intro class I have ever taken in college. Her test questions are very difficult. Average test scores are low 70's. What does that tell you? Going to class definately helps, as she takes 5 points off when you miss. You must participate too!

Comment:

She was an average, but nice professor. She doesn't really have many strong or weak points. She gave a lot of reading to do and a lot of it wasn't really necessary for the class (many to help you understand it more). Also, she graded papers slightly hard. On the other hand, her tests were very fair by giving you the essay questions in advance.

I went to every class and did the discussion board. I know this is college but its an intro class and she grades the essays too hard.Its hard to succeed in a boring class. She talks too long on unimportant issues. You have to do all this extra readings and its only a couple questions on the test..

I went to class - every single class - and got an A - plus my participation grade was 95% and I still agree with everyone else. She uses too much time talking about politics and getting her point of view across and she doesn't explain any of the readings. AND she insulted people's intelligence constantly.

The intro class is very tough. However, I would venture a guess that the majority of people that complain about her simply did not go to class or participate. Just do the readings and the discussion board. Just tough it out and you will be fine, remember it is college so it will be tough

Read the book & you will do well on tests. There is an endless amount of reading & she doesn't clarify or explain any of it in class. She uses class time to voice her political & personal views on the US & the world. I felt like I was being brainwashed. I learned more about Barack Obama than I did about women. The lectures are very dry and boring.

She is one of the most informative professors I have ever had. She is willing to help anyone who comes to her. Her class is not that hard, as long as you read what you are supposed to and come to class, which isnt hard to do. She is not anti-american in the very least (if she was, the why would she still be here). She just knows the truth.

she hates america, so if you are pro america, dont take her classes. other then that she knows alot about what she is talking about, and its very interesting. i had her for anthro of women, and it opened my eyes to how women around the world are treated. its a good class. easy too.

Not sure what all these Liberal Arts majors are whining about, but I thought the class (Intro to Anthropology) was quite easy. If you do your work, watch your grammar, and stay engaged in the lectures, it's a breeze. But she challenges people about their personal beliefs, so everyone just assumes she's being antagonistic.

There are two tests a few homework assignments and more reading than you can ever imagine. She is the most boring prof ever. The tests are 60% essay which shouldnt be that bad if you understood the material which she does not help you to do at all. Avoid her.

HARDEST CLASS EVER. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She's soo monotonous and BORING. I got a C in this Gen Ed class! Average test grades are around 68% for every test! She makes this stupid class hard! DO NOT TAKE HER. You'll die of boredom. AND she has an attendance policy. You don't even use those books she requires. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!

This class is one of the most boring I've taken at UPJ. It has potential to be interesting- but it's just not. If you have conservative political views you will hate her. She always talks about how other cultures are so much better than the US. Tests are kind of hard as well.

I really had a hard time understanding her accent. She was also not very helpful when I went to extra help, it seemed that if she liked you you were able to get the help necissary to do well but if not you were screwed. I really did not like her much as a professor.

This was one of my tougher electives. It's not like it was the hardest class i've ever taken compared to like diff eq and vibrations, but it wasn't a push over class either. I often opposed her views on the US, she just seemed to talk down on us sometimes. Not a bad class overall though
