Comment:

Took her "Food in World History" class because I needed an upper lvl and history credit. This is the second time I've had her, got 88% B's both times. Her informal writings are irritating their not hard just both classes I write exactly what she wants and get a B. Nothing personal against her, very intelligent I just don't click with her.

Enjoyed this class. Theres a lot of note taking, but you dont really have much homework. Just study. Shes a very nice prof and made the class fun. I recommend her!

Comment:

Very understanding when my book came in late. Tough grader, didn't say what she was looking for, then graded me on criteria I didn't know about. Overall, its an easy class. Good textbook choice. Just pay attention to due dates.

Dr. Miller was overall a good professor. She genuinely cares about her students and wants to see them all succeed. Her lectures are rather boring however, but she gives you all the notes you need. Study the terms well and you'll do just fine.

Montserrat is very kind. She is very understanding of life outside of class, she pushes you to work in a good way. She is funny and usually laid back when communicating to the class. Very recommended

Comment:

Dr. Miller is one of the best professors that I have ever had. She is funny and teachers in a manner that kept me engaged. She made this class and history fun for me. Make sure you go to class, do your work and study your terms and you can pass the class. I would suggest her to anyone, and would taker her again if I were to take another HST course.

Her class was awesome. We talked about a lot of off topic things and she has a ton of good stories. As long as you go to class, do the primary source prompts and take the tests you're guaranteed to pass. Make sure you take notes of all the terms she has listed in the syllabus. I would done a lot better on the first test if it wasn't for this.

AMAZING!! She teaches the content with so much passion and it really made me interested in what she was teaching. Lectures are long and she keeps you the full class period, but she's such an interesting lady that its worth it! If I stay at Marshall, I will definitely take Mrs. Miller again! And I'm not even a history major..

Dr. Miller is amazing, and so lenient. Late? At least you showed. Missed an exam? At least your making an effort to make it up. She is so interesting and inspirational and adds personal anecdotes to class. Also, shes crazy smart and wrote an amazing book, Feeding Barcelona out in 2015. Shes amazing and sweet and loving. She's always there to talk

One of the best profs I've ever had. You have to read and take lots of good notes. She is extremely intelligent, very helpful and really funny. Ask questions and read ahead, she'll love you. I am not a history major but will for sure take her again!

AWESOME teacher! She is very clear with concepts and drills them into your brain so you will remember them come test day. You will take 5-6 pages of notes during class, but it's not bad at all. The tests are easy if you pay attention and study your notes. DO NOT GET YOUR PHONE OUT IN CLASS! I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Miller is a great teacher. She has high standards for all of her students, and helps you to meet her standards. She is a strict grader, and you might not understand what she wants in the beginning, but go to her office hours she is a lovely person who also understands that her students are people too. Loved the class and learned a lot!

Attendance is mandatory. You will never get out of class early. Do not get on your phone and always appear to be taking notes or she will stop the lecture to call you out in front of 60 people. The informal reflective writings are graded ridiculously tough and the exams are extremely difficult. She goes on tangents about patriarchy in every class.

She is very smart and a nice lady, but can be tough and intimidating at times. Her lectures are interesting and if you pay attention and take notes like you are supposed to you will have no trouble. I recommend but slackers beware.

Who ever said the information from the notes wasn't on the test were wrong.The essay question comes from the notes and she even tells you what to put in the essay before the test.And all vocab comes from book and course packet. Not hard if you take notes and attend class.

I LOVED Mrs. Miller! She was great! Always willing to help and her lectures were interesting because she was funny. You have to work for your grade, but she's willing to help you out. She's very open minded to questions and you can tell she loves what she does. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat!

Comment:

She is very rude and I would advise to avoid her at all cost. Most of the notes you will take are useless but you better take them anyway because if she catches you not taking them she will waste every students time by stopping in mid lecture to single you out. I believe we as students can choose whether or not we want to take notes.
