Mo truly loves geography, it's his life. Students who take this class as a gen ed will find it hard, he teaches and makes you study like if you were majoring in the subject. I took two of his classes in one semester it wasn't easy. As a person he's one of the best person you will meet, he has so many stories to share.

Comment:

Mo is maybe the most passionate person I've ever met. I seriously think that Geography is the love of his life which is really great because whether you want to or not, you WILL learn in this class. It doesn't stick to the schedule because he teaches you a lot of stuff that is more of the "big picture" variety. Its a tough class but worth it.

Mo is an amazing professor. He has so much knowledge not only on geography but the entire world. Yes he is clear in his beliefs and yes he will tell you if he disagrees with your beliefs but he's never rude, just honest. He does teach, he just wants the class to participate so he requires YOU to ask the questions. He's basically yoda.

He may seem to know all of his stuff, but he does not always talk about topics relevant to the class. If you want to pass his class, be prepared to study hard outside of class, as well as show up. His quizzes may seem hard but the tests were even harder.

He was tough on grades and really made you learn the subject. However as a teacher I am very glad I took his class. People gave him a bad rating a lot but that's just because they were too politically washed to see what he was actually trying to teach us about Human Geography. Great teacher, great class, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Do not let the 3.5 rating fool you! My friend took his class and told me about how terrible he is but i didn't believe her so I took his class. He is the worst teacher I have ever hard. first 30 min of class everyday was spent on him lectureing us on how america sucks and we suck as students. He hates anyone else's opinion and is very rude.

If you don't show up to class or get sick a lot you will fail the class. Also, if you do not like to talk in class do not take him. He makes you talk and finish his sentences on a daily basis. If you do not participate your grade will suffer big time. His lectures are off topic and goes on rants about random things. didn't learn much at all.

Great teacher. He is very passionate in Geography and is why I am going deeper into Geography and GIS. If you skip class you will fail. If you don't do the work you will fail. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

I agree with 99.9% of his opinions about things. As a person, he's cool. As a teacher...I'm not so sure. What few assignments we had were vagueunclear in instructions. If you're quiet, he'll single you out and call you a potential serial killer, so if you're shyquietsocially anxious, do not take his classes.

Challenging, but has a LOT of knowledge and is very passionate about the subject! He relates everything to Geography so be prepared to talk about real world issues...including politics and religion. You HAVE to be open to discussion to take this class! Students usually either love him or hate him. Still, a real and valuable learning experience.

If you like your GPA I would suggest not taking this class. There are hardly any points given for the amount of reading required, and Mo relies almost entirely on multiple choice tests with several tricky questions in each. I personally prefer conveying what I've learned and not how well I've adapted to a professor's test style. Very frustrating.
