No grading criteria/feedback whatsoever. Made a girl cry when she left for an appointment. I never got a single grade back/knew how I was doing in the class until the final when she said she didn't want to pass me (I did all of the papers, maybe not grade A material, but I still put in the work). Was nice to me but I have seen her lose her temper.

I don't recall signing up for a book club but thats where I ended up being in with this class. The books she picked were lame but somehow she had passion for them. She is very rude to students. Her grading system is terrible and I just think that she doesn't even have one. Not professional at all. Take someone else if you wanna do good in writing.

This was the second time taking this class and I cannot believe I had to retake it with her. (The other options were full) I walked in knowing the game and I sat all the way in the back. Luckily she didn't remember me but she was the same person I remembered two terms ago. She is rude to students and I still couldn't figure out her grading system.

If you are taking a class with her be careful because she clearly has anger issues, whenever a question she didnt like was asked shed make you feel stupid. Didnt learn anything in this class at all and it was more like a book club than actual writing that will benefit me in the future. She also has no clear grading criteria whatsoever.

Just overall wasn't very professional. Never had clear grading criteria or expectations and often would get frustrated/flustered when students would ask about their grades. It was much more of a philosophy class then a writing class. I guess that is what you get when it takes you 12 years to get your associates degree, what a joke.

teacher is rude, unclear and makes you feel stupid. She gets angry when you ask her questions in,she gives attitude. You learn absolutely no new writing skills. This was more of a book study class then a writing class. We had (4-5) books the semester then had to right papers on them. Instead of letter grades you are given checks like a child.

Comment:

Dr. Casciato was one of my favorite teachers. We wrote five essays (a couple of them were shorty ones) during the term. She gives excellent feedback and works hard to get to know students' individual strengths and weaknesses. She's a little bossy, not in a bad way in my opinion, and she is pretty opinionated but encourages others to have their own.

Never taking a class from her again. She is so rude with anger issues. Sometimes she can be funny, RARELY! Her instructions are hard to understand. I get so terrified about raising my hand in class cause I will be judge and embarrassed by her. She is such a tough grader! Unless your asking for some attitude, do not cross paths with her! BEWARE!

Overall I did enjoy this class. Her lectures are very interesting and they keep you engaged. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of large assignments. I'd be in the middle of writing one essay and we would get yet another long assignment. She does however make the assignments very clear with handouts and discussions about them.

Not taking a class from this woman ever again even though I got an A but it wasn't easy. She's very aggressive and has anger issues. Even though I never crossed bad paths with her, beware. She's very rude and unwilling to answer your questions. Grading system is very unclear too. Her lectures are long, boring, and meaningless. Find a better teacher

I would never recommend this woman to anyone. She shouldn't be teaching period. Just plain rude. Don't even bother asking for help because you'll just get yelled at and she'll take her anger out on you. ALL of her assignment guidelines are VAGUE and UNCLEAR. Worst experience ever. Not worth your time or money! Find a better teacher than this brute!

This lady doesn't seem to enjoy teaching. When you ask for help, she doesn't help at all. If an assignment is vague (which most of them are) and you ask for clarification, she'll get angry and at you. She's very disrespectful and unmannerly to her students. I completely disagree with the person who said she's a true delight... LOL What a joke.

Red flag!! She seems to not like her job. She's very impatient and aggressive. She acts like the evil lunch lady or librarian and can get very salty over little things. Her grading system isn't clear at all. I would caution you before you take any of her classes. I would never recommend her to anyone...

She was an absolute delight, her class was my favorite of the semester. I took Film As Art and really enjoyed it. I was nervous about taking an English class because writing is really hard for me, but I enjoyed reflecting on the films we watched and felt more confident in my writing after reading her positive and constructive feedback on my work

Nancy is very disorganized and is very strict with deadlines. Not willing to be flexible with your schedule if you have work and stuff. A lot of the papers we did weren't even graded. Her grading system doesn't make sense. This class was just busy work. She's not very nice and get angry easily. Find someone else!

Beware. This lady has REALLY unclear assignment expectations and when you ask for help, she doesn't help or makes things more confusing for you. She has very limited patience and takes her aggression out on the class. She plays favorites and its obvious. She's not understanding at all and thinks our life is her class. Don't take her! Not worth it!

Dr. Casciato is an amazing professor! She truly cares about her students and makes you get in touch with your true writing self. As long as you do the work and go in depth you will get an A in the class. Come to class ready to participate or else she will make you participate.

This class was a pretty fun. The teacher was very kind and understanding as long as you don't talk during class. No difficult assignments besides a group project and the end of the year. Easy A as long as you do the work.
