While she is definitely very knowledgable about Russian Literature and everything there is to it, her major downfall is that she is a very cold and unwelcoming person. She is very rude and multiple times a day will interrupt her students mid-presentation or mid-question and criticize them or be extremely and unnecessarily condescending. Huge regret

Incredibly knowledgable about Russian literature and culture. Makes you work hard for your grades but appreciates you making an effort to improve in her classes. After 3 years here, finally found a professor who challenges you to work hard and makes your writing better. Intimidating at first but she really does care for her students who work hard

Took this class because there wasn't any other ones and I didn't want to wait. Biggest regret ever. Gave me a C for participation even though I always tried to answer and then when confronted she told me that my answers the first week were unsatisfactory so she never wanted to embarrass me & if you don't have the same opinion as her, you're wrong.

She is unclear about assignments and an incredibly difficult grader. If your ideas and opinions don't line up with her own, then she will tell you that you are wrong and take it out on your grade. Her classes are literally just her talking the entire time and it's tough to make it through. I would not take this class again.

She's a really nice, understanding teacher with a passion for Russian culture and literature. Easy to understand despite accent. Make a solid effort and pay attention in class and you should pass easily.

Great class and she's a really easy grader with papers. I didn't red some of the books and still got an A.

I was a graduate student in the dept. Her conflict with a now thankfully retired professor is why I left the department. She single handedly gutted the Russian linguistics program.

I loved her class! I took it because there was nothing else I could take, but I ended up falling in love with russian literature. She is very passionate about her field of study, and incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. If you want a class that will make you think, take RUT3110 or any other class with her.

Awesome teacher,if you dont want to learn the material do not take the class, you will end up failing miserably. Not an easy A, you will work for your grade but if you keep up with the reading you should be fine. That being said the content is very interesting and the books are classics. Class Introduced me to one of my favorite books of all time.

Her Russian Literature course is awesome. You've *got* to read the books to get a decent grade, but it's no problem because the content is so interesting and she knows it so well. Top-notch class, top-notch professor.

Nina's a pretty tough grader on her papers, which is basically all she bases your grade on. Make sure you read all the material and enjoy reading literature, or you will suffer greatly.

Class is extremely challenging. Make sure to read the text before coming to class, as participation is a huge percentage of the final grade. Requires in depth analysis of the text, make sure you ENJOY russian literature, otherwise, it will be horrible.

I took both her lit and language classes and I loved it. It's not the easiest thing if you take both at the same time (about the same hours of homework for both), but her Russian class is especially great -- she'll make you learn Russian. 'Can't wait to take her Dissident Lit class!
