I had Prof. Barrett for at least 5 Criminal Justice classes and he was also my advisor (over 10 years ago). He made sure I had an internship in the field I was interested in. His classes were interesting and he has a good sense of humor. He truly cares about his students. He no longer teaches at AU but you can find him at Bluffton University.

This class was very difficult .you basically end up trying to teach yourself the material. ALL the class is on Angel and it is VERY difficult to keep up with everything i use to be so excited to take a sociology class however 301 ruined that for me. i will never be interested in taking one ever again (cause of the method in which it was taught)

I had Barrett for many of my CJ classes and he was one of my favorites at Ashland. The classes are laid back and aren't difficult, but for me that allowed for more learning, especially from other students. He really encouraged class discussion and opinions. I liked his more laid back teaching approach and always had a good time in his classes!

I am a former student of Mike Barrett (Dr. Barrett). I was the first class he taught from freshman to graduation; He is a great teacher; I learned a lot from him; His approach to the classes was refreshing, especially the mock murder (forensics) and going to see the autopsy! I had him over a decade ago and he is the best!!

awesome teacher. i've had him for about 8 of my CJ classes and i always score a good grade. one downside though: he rarely gives out A's because of the recent crack down on the department. anyways, he respects the students as well, especially the older ones.

Nice guy but will put you to sleep after talking for just 5min(BORING!). Don't need any of the books for the class, test are take home essay's, don't like how he grades them though. I didn't really learn anything in the class either.
