She is an extrememly nice lady and any time I didnt go or pay attention, I felt terrible. She is willing to help and explain things to you. Some of the work is boring, some very interesting. She is an amazingly nice lady.

She is extremely sweet and respectful to her students. She will hear you out if you want to talk. She is a bit hard to understand at times but just ask her to repeat things and she will with no questions asked. She doesn't prepare a syllabus, you will do it as a class when you want things do. And even if you hand things late, she's cool about it.

Otrude doesn't really listen to others opinions and automatically thinks your being too conservative, which I am not at all. i dont think she is a very easy grader, there are 3 quizzes and she drops one, you have to attend a public meeting and write a paper on that, do an in class film critique paper, and a midterm/final paper, oh and 3 short paper

Orturde was the most wonderful professor I have ever had. She brings with her life experience, sensitivity and passion. I can honestly say her class changed my life. If you are studying social work take a class with Ortude-she gives the words social justice its true meaning!

Ortude is wonderful. She adds a personal spin & allows you to express yourself. Assignment deadlines are clear if you keep up with deadlines and attend class you will get a good grade. Ortude is the only instrutor I've ever had that I think really listens to her students. I highly recommend taking her class!

Very nice woman, but incredibly unclear and difficult to understand. Her syllabus made no sense, and nobody ever knew when assignments were due or what she expected of them. We did hardly any work for the first two months, and then she overloaded us with assignments at the end. I loved the subject matter, but the course was a disaster.

This class single handedly made me want to go through this crap and be a Social Worker. I loved this class. I did work my butt off but it was worth it. She tells it like it is with no punches. She deserves nothing but respect.

Otrude is awesome! things can get a little hectic and confusing regarding assignments particularly due dates and occasionally expectations. However if your looking for an interesting knowledgeable porfessor to teach an intriging thought provoking class this one is prefect!

I like Otrude. What I don't like are slackers in the class who 1) don't participate and 2) if they are forced to participate, respond as if they really couldn't care less about the subject. It is so disrespectful to a woman who is really passionate about her subject matter. I have no patience for people who mooch off the rest of the class.

Otrude has definitely improved as a professor sinse I took 250 with her a year ago. She does a great job making us understand oppresion by telling us stories from her own life. Definitely makes you think on a deeper level. She is an easy grader too!

For a teacher who promotes "sensitivity",Otrude is very insensitive and discriminatory to many students as there is a blatant distaste for white people who hail from Europe,and ive been told to feel ashamed of where i come from.She actually promoted the legalization of drugs b/c its how poor people make money.PLEASE. Otrude is the best professor I've had at USM by far. She is very inspiring and is a great facilitator of learning in every way. However, don't take this class if you prefer straight lecture with minimal student involvement.
