Comment:

Pam is a very warm and genuine professor who is interested in her students and helping them grasp the material. I found her approachable and easy to talk to about the subject matter, especially attachment theory. She responds to her emails well, just be advised to study your heine off for her tests, because they are very thorough.

Great teacher! You have 5 tests that are multiple choice and you need scantrons. There is no final! You do need the book, because on her study guides there are some things she wants you to know from the book that she didn't go over in class. Very interesting and super nice!

Abnormal Psychology with Pam is amazing! Though, this is a class with no hw, you still must read the book! If you dont, her tests are BRUTAL! She is engaging and fun. Class discussions and videos break up the lectures and keep interest. I recommend Pam for anyone taking abnormal psychology. Good luck!

I had her for both Intro and Abnormal Psychology before leaving EWU. Professor Barnes was one of the only things I liked about EWU. She knows what she is talking about and has clear expectations. Come to class, no the study guides she gives you and an A is acheivable for anyone willing to review the study guide. Use Flashcards!

Really cares about the students. Don't have to show up to the class. I would recommend it though. You learn a lot from lecture, and even more on your own time, with your study guide. Everything is out there for the taking, if you want a 4.0 then you will learn a bunch with her. Also easy to talk to so feel free to ask her any questions after class.

Pam is an amazing teacher! She is fun and she really clarifies things for you. I took Psych 309 and 301 from her. If you write down everything she says, memorize it, take the test, easy 4.0 :] she tells you everything thats going to be on the test too! I'd take another class from her again.

Pamela was always in such a good mood, she loved making jokes to try and keep us interested. Study guides for every test, easy papers, extra credit opportunities. I will be taking another one of her classes!

For abnormal she expects you to know an extrordinary amount of material for test but covers very little of it in class. You have to read the book and teach yourself on a lot of the material. I got a pretty good grade but I studied quiet a bit. Shows a lot of movies that are helpful, but takes time away from lecture. Test every other week.

Barnes is a great professor. She will make sure that you get it and is very fair. If you have any questions she will meet with you one on one, but is sometimes hard to meet with because she is very busy. Overall great class and made me interested in research psychology.

Pam is an amazing prof. She is a clinician, so she comes to the class with lots of real life experience. Willing to clarify things as many times as you need, and gives great study guides for her tests. One of the best profs I've had. Don't miss class because assignments turned in one day late are worth 5 pts. instead of 25 pts, but that's fair.

Had her for Personality and Clinical Assessment. Great teacher. Lays 99% of the test out for you the day before so you know exactly what to study, and drops lowest of 5 test scores. Very passionate and knowledgable about the subjects she teaches. Great sense of humor.

One of the finest teachers I have ever had. Very sharp, clear, funny, knows her stuff. Writing assignments are worthy of your time and effort; I usually HATE papers; generally find them utterly useless. Pamela's assignments really invite you to think about subject matter, not ask you to do B.S. undergrad 'research' and pretend you know stuff.
