Comment:
Pamela is very caring and approachable but she isn't very organized in her office hours. You have to go straight to your topic or she will chat with you till the time is over. Also, she isn't very clear in her grading criteria but overall she is not a very hard grader. Her courses tend to have quite a few guest speakers and big group projects.

She is a very organized professor and cares a lot about her fields of expertise. She cares a lot about African/African American Studies, too.

She talks to you like you are a child. If she brings in guest speakers (or if students are leading discussion) she will always interrupt. Sends way too many emails. The readings/homework are fine, but she definitely brings down the class.

Comment:
Horribly condescending and unhelpful if you're 1.) male 2.) not interested in the anthropology of reproduction 3. not interested in Africa. I could see why this might be the case in some of the courses she teaches, but as someone tasked with teaching Intro, this is a bad, bad, bad combination.

OKay. Very kind, approachable, and flexible. Not a great class lecturer, very predictable, just summarizes what we've read. Then again, it was just an intro course.

Pamela gets her ideas across ok, but her grading preferences are often unclear.
