I had her my first semester, and she was an excellent teacher. I began with a vague interest in the material, and she was able to cultivate that into something much richer. Though challenging, she was always helpful and very understanding, with a very deep knowledge of what she was teaching. She has a magnetism about her and is a very nice person.

I really enjoyed her class. She was able to encourage all of us to participate, and it felt like a club instead of a class by the end of the semester. She loves what she teaches, and is very helpful.

As much as I liked looking at her I would not suggest taking a class with her. I am not a genius, but I suspect I would have to be to do well in one of her classes. Luckily she was the TA and not the professor. : ) In all fairness she seems interested and wants to help, but tends to grade too harshly.

I was unimpressed. As a TA she's tough, makes up ridiculous requirements that the professor never mentioned, and is rather unhelpful when you go to see her in office hours. Also if you want to feel really bad about yourself, she'll do a good job at telling you, that you suck.

The class was so unorganized and not interesting. You didn't get to digest the material, you spent the entire time rushing through each reading, presentation, quizzes, journal entry and essays. Office hours were always canceled or move to a later time.

She advocates for only one specific writing style and guess what its her own! If you're an aspiring writer with a creative, unconventional style, she will eat you alive (in terms of grades). My advice: suck up to her as much as possible

The class is not impossible, but it is very hard. Requires a lot of work and reading. Quiz on every reading assignment. I had 5 papers due for her on one day; she got screwed up, but it screwed me over. I still did well overall.
