It felt like she didn't want to be there. When she talked about art history, it was great. Mostly she made us discuss the lectures among ourselves, which felt pointless b/c nobody had anything meaningful to say but people blabbered anyway to fill time. She was a huge stickler about the class readings for no reason.

Unfortunately, Paola is overqualified to teach Foundations art history. She's very intimidating and can seem harsh, but she's actually quite funny and can contribute a lot to student discussions. Just bring thoughtful discussion questions to class and she'll be fine.

More concerned with chewing people out for yawning without covering their mouths than answering questions. Actually, she spends a lot of time chewing people out in general. Will interrupt class to lecture a sleepy student about how they are wasting their parents' money. Publicly embarrasses students who come to class unprepared. Not very helpful.

Hates freshmen, her job, America... probably would be happier studying Chinese artifacts somewhere other than RISD. I didn't mind her as a teacher, but I can't help but wonder why she's teaching since she seems to dislike her students so much. Generates no enthusiasm.
