Hes travelled the world and been to places such as India which is the base of his phil classes. Highly recommend you take his class.

He's not too bad, but he does treat you like highschool students. He gets pretty mad when someone talks in class...even if someone is just asking to borrow a pencil or something. Attendance is DEFINITELY mandatory, quiz every class, first 5-10 minutes. So if you're late, no make-up. Quizzes were easy at first but got harder and more detailed.

Awesome teacher. He's very personable and makes class a discussion and loves imput. He makes it feel as if he's an old friend you haven't seen in a while. He also constantly checks to make sure if everyone is understanding the material or have any questions. Make sure you do the reading because there is a quiz at the beginning of each class.

I took the Distance Learning class this summer, you basically just take three test and that's it. I did bad on the first test, but good on the next two. Ended up with a B in the class. Nice guy, but it got really annoying how he was careless about somethings =/ he wastes time by interrupting you for like 10 minutes during tests, so be careful!

I took his Eastern Phil A & B classes and LOVED them!!!! The second class was even better! I learned so much about myself and about the world in general in his class. The drop rate was LOW in his class to no surprise! He is hands down my favorite teacher ever! I took a history class with him too and also enjoyed that very much :)

I took the class by accident. My friend told me it was cool. I always thought I hated philosophy, esp. Eastern Phil. I ended up liking it a lot. Subject was very interesting, contrary to my belief. Teacher can get a little repetitive and his book as well. 3 not-too-philosophical essays. No final. Daily quizzes.

Nice guy overall and entertaining most times but his dvd was boring. DO NOT fall asleep. "Get out and never come back." I went to his office to apologize and he said "Save it, I don't want to hear it. You can still drop with a W before next friday. Do it before then." No sleep in class = nice teacher.

Mr. Bresnan is rad and a half! He knows what he's talking about, and encourages you to use your brain. He's really chill, and is the sort of person i would want to hang with outside of school(no I'm not being sarcastic). You also get to meditate in his class, which can be really relaxing.

Prof. Bresnan is a great teacher! He does require your attendance and for you to read the text. There is a mini quiz at the begining of every class and 3 writing assignments. Just study, be respectful and you will see that he is actually a cool guy. I took 2 of his courses- recieved a B the first time and an A the next.

Mr. Bresnan is such a mellow instructor. He is VERY open-minded. There is a quiz on the assigned reading at each class meeting, but DON'T WORRY, they ARE DOABLE! Often times his lectures and the class discussion can be repetitive and boring; just don't fall asleep because he will get ticked off. Give respect to receive respect!

There's alot more you can get from Mr Bresnan than a letter grade. DO the reading/study question assignments and listen to what he has to say. If you aren't willing to immerse yourself into the subject matter you are going to hate the class, so might as well open your mind, and learn all about it. The rest of your life will thank you for it.

Interesting teacher who seems quite content with his life. Every day there is a quiz from the readings but no final. 3 Essays which are super easy. Easy class in general, should pull off an A no problem. Can bring you into a deeper insight about life. Take the class if interested in religious studies or GE.

really passionate about his subject. a little hard of hearing but otherwise a great teacher. grade is mostly based on reading quizzes at the beginning of each class, and if you read the assignment thoroughly, you'll get an easy A. 3 short papers including a visit to a museum. AWESOME CLASS!

One of the most interesting class I've taken at De Anza. The class is based on reading quizzes (which were pretty easy if you read the assignment)and 3 short essays. The book is a easy read and actually quite interesting. The meditation exercises were very relaxing and calming. Overall, great class and great teacher!

Any jokers out there who are just looken for an easy A, stay away, you waste this teachers time! He's an awsome guy, and remember to speak up, because he is a little hard of hearing. I really feel like a better person after taking this class

I'd like to thank the instructor for the wonderful lectures, and admire him for his great patience in class: he sincerely answers all kinds of questions. What I learned in this course was fascinating and I feel like I am one step closer to happiness. If you're open-minded, you'll sure feel great in class and reading the textbook. It's a masterpiece
