This was a very tough class. Clearly, Professor Duval knows a LOT about chemistry, but I found that he was not good at explaining concepts at a level that could be understood by undergraduate chemistry students. I studied a lot and scraped a B, but dreaded this class every week.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had, he cared about the students understanding it, but he got mad if he had to explaining things more than once. I never understood what was really going on.

Extremely helpful. I busted my butt and got a B. I deserved an A. Offered papers for extra credit. To get a good grade, you need to have your stuff down. The final had more calculations that I was expecting. By the way, the B was a close to an A. Requires a lot work, but you will learn a lot.Ni

This class wasn't too bad. I thought the tests were pretty fair, just make sure you study. The lectures are pretty boring, but Duval is really easy to approach and ask questions. He is very friendly. Overall, the class was just ok.
