Professor Lopes was a great professor to have when getting acclimated to college courses. He was very energetic and kept the class alive. I loved going to the class and looked forward to it. He's a pretty easy grader, the only downfall is that he assigns a lot of reading, but it is very interesting.

His lectures are interesting entertaining, and the material is good. However, he needs to organize the semester a bit better, give out paper assignments sooner and be clearer on the epistemological basis of his own study of Media, as well as what he expects from our research papers.

Personally, for me this class was a joke. Lopes is very unprofessional (makes a lot of sexual jokes which really weren't funny at all...) and is generally boring. I stopped doing the reading a month into the class and I pulled off a B+ in the class just from skimming my notes for the tests.

Best intro to anything class I've taken in my four years; it's too bad I didn't take it sooner or I would have majored or minored in it. Readings were sometimes dry but even then he knew how to put an interesting twist on them in class. Great professor.

I did NOT enjoy Mass Media and Pop Culture with Lopes. He directed all of his attention to the girls in the class that flirted with him. I did not find him to be very professional. He is more of a comedian than a professor.
