Tough grader. Smart, extremely well read in his area, encyclopedic recall. He's a good lecturer, but not always incredibly engaging. He's funny, but in a very nerdy way.

Dr. Moreno, for all the praise he gets, is neither engaging or inspiring in his American Heritage class. I found absolutely no structure in his lectures and never knew what to study for his exams, which are almost impossible to do well on. Take Conner, he's about the same difficulty, but you will know what to expect and actually learn something.

Maybe it was just me but I found his lectures very boring and very hard to take notes in. Seemed to be very flighty and his pop quizzes were a pain. Great guy but he made me see how boring History could actually be.

Dr. Moreno is great. His U.S. and the World class is fascinating - he really knows his stuff. Not as world-shatteringly good as Dr. Birzer, but he's solid overall. He also looks like Nicholas Sarkozy. You should tell him that.

Moreno's lectures are always interesting and entertaining, yet his tests are still something of a mystery to me. Difficult to get an A, but it is worth taking his class. Probably the most sarcastic man on this campus, and for that, I adore him! :-) Looks like John Cleese, "Monty Python."

He may not seem too entertaining at first glance, but Dr. Moreno has one of the funniest, subtlest senses of humor of any professor at Hillsdale. And he has an encyclopedic knowledge of American history, as well as a firm grasp of why it all matters.
