Dr. Murphy is extremely intelligent but does not know how to convey his knowledge. He is very difficult to comprehend and is very unreliable. He frequently did not show up for scheduled office hours, even if I personally emailed him to set up an appointment for questions. I would never recommend taking bio101 from Dr. Murphy.

This professor was terrible and i hope to god that he eventually stops referencing cell division and many other things to sex!! Impossible tests and an even worse final!!

Murphy was hard to understand, but if you dedicated yourself to studying the notes, paying attention in lab, and reviewing the book you could get a good grade. The one thing that drove me crazy was that he frequently would point out things that WOULD NOT be on the test and tell us to NOT study it and then he would put it on the test. It was ok

extremely hard. enjoys the fact that 90% of his class is failing. one of the hardest courses i have ever taken. he moves extremely fast and tests are hair pulling!

Very hard teacher. Spent 99% of my study time on this class alone, yet still walked out of tests crying. Honestly doesn't care about the fact most of his students are failing terribly. I would never ever take a class from him again.

Not a terrible teacher but it is one of the hardest classes i have taken. The labs are ridiculous. Some people could spend 10+ hours a week working on labs. Dr. Murphy, i think, is hilarious. If you get old tests his tests are much easier.

Peter is a little hard to follow sometimes leaving you wondering WTF, but if you have half a brain and work hard and ask questions along the way he is not that bad. He really does help you if you ask questions. I liked taking this course form him.

Very difficult class. I dedicated the majority of my study time to this class and as a result my other grades fell. If I had to take him again or chew my arm off, I would grab some salt and a tourniquet and go to town. If I'm being to subtle, STEAR CLEAR he is the antichrist.

If you can't handle Biology 101, then you shouldn't be a Biology-related major. Granted, the material was extremely tough coming from Dr. Murphy, but it isn't like he didn't give a GIGANTIC curve at the end. Stop crying and learn how to handle a difficult instructor.
