I went in to this class extremely hesitant due to his reviews on here. He's a pretty funny and sarcastic guy. Will respond to emails. His grading scale makes this class definitely easier, an 80% A etc. and he offers 5% Extra Credit just for showing up to recitation. Tests are 12 questions multiple choice and not bad if you REALLY study.

Absolutely horrible professor. Multiple choice tests that are brutal. Lectures do not relate to exam content. Homework completely irrelevant to helping succeed in this class. You have been warned.

Course needs better structure but I would definitely take it again. He reviews the concepts necessary to understand the class in the first few lectures but its better to have a physics background anyway. His powerpoints don't give much information so its recommended you attend the lectures to understand the assignments. Best part, NO EXAMS!!

Dr. Rez is the worst professor I have ever had. His exams are 12 multiple choice questions, he is not helpful if you email him for extra resources to help you study, and he HATES premed students. He refuses to help you out at all because he honestly doesn't care about students. He only teaches so that he can do his research.

The tests were horrible in my opinion. There was very little questions on the exams and his tests were ALL concepts. I struggle with physics but it wasn't as bad until this class. There are homework assignments and his tests can be brutal. If you like physics even just a bit and you can problem solve, then this class is for you.

My suggestion... buy a Chegg Account. It sucked that 44 questions determined 70% of your grade. HW was 25%, Clickers were 5%, and Recitations were 5% extra credit. Lectures and Homework did not correlate well, and the tests were mostly conceptual. A lot of work, but not terrible if you pay attention on review day and you understand the equations.

He is a decent enough guy and his lectures aren't terrible, however he presents many ideas and concepts and somehow expects you to determine what is most important. He only does 2, 12 question tests with very abstract/conceptual questions. He never finishes the problems that he does in class and never emphasizes what is the most important concept

This was a topic class, The Science of Sustainable Energy. Very fun, extremely fluffy. If you are OCD and can't tolerate a generalist approach and good-enough approximation he will annoy the crap out of you.

Professor Rez is complete idiot. He is sloppy and his lectures are not useful. He is an old has-been lingering at ASU mumbling about Airport body scanners,I felt that he has a dislike for premed students, seriously dont take him you will regret it. He speaks about how smart he is but it turns out that he is just another zit on the ASU physics butt

Horrible teacher. I received an A in 111 with an excellent teacher and a C with Rez in 112. Teachers from a powerpoint. He talks about one pre-worked out problem average per section. Homework problems are nothing like equations barely taught in class. Tests also use some equations not given in the equation sheet.

Tests arent too bad multiple choice way better than free response not that difficult of a class I would say. I got a C in Covattos class and I got an A in his class. They say Physics 2 is harder but not with Rez.

Horrible instructor! He answers students' questions in a condescending manor, if he even answers it at all. His handwriting is sloppy, nearly impossible to follow a diagram in his lecture. His exams are nothing like the online hw. He goes off on tangents! i.e.airport body scanners, yet he never explained why he opposes them and not nuclear energy.

Dr. Rez presents off power points. His lectures can be slightly boring. He is quite condescending towards his students. His midterms are not too complicated, an equation sheet is given, though they are high stakes at 12 problems on each of the 2 midterms. Overall I would not recommend him if you had the option though he is not unbearable.

Rez is another example of why the Physics dept at ASU sucks. The course isn't that hard, but you have to do the work to succeed. If you have questions, I would go to a TA instead of him directly. All he did was lecture off his powerpoints - just because he has a PhD doesn't mean he knows how to teach...

Not a hard class if you do the homework, class basically built off the powerpoints. The problem is that his lectures are just powerpoints so there is really no need to go to class because he post the powerpoints. I think he is one of the better professors at ASU, but thats not saying much.

He is lazy!!! His midterms are 10 multiple choice questions each which completely eliminates the possibility for partial credit. When asked why he did not include write-in questions he said that when he did more students came to talk to him. He can not teach and everything that he does is motivated by personal laziness. Avoid him!!!!!

I had this jackass for a graduate course at ASU. He knew nothing about what he was talking about, even though he's a tenured professor of physics, and just copied someone else's lecture notes 5 minutes before class. I took the 2nd semester from a harder professor and got an A. What's that tell you? Again, he's a complete moron.
