Taught an ID class called reason, action and events. Great class and a great teacher. Very interesting lecture. Not a harsh grader and gives good feedback on essays. Really cared about his students. Looking forward to taking another class of his later.

Professor Thielke was the best professor I had at Pomona. I took two classes with him, and he was my advisor. He always assigned the perfect amount of reading, which resulted in amazing class discussions because everyone had done it! His feedback on papers was so helpful and thorough, and he would respond to email at all hours. He's the best!

An amazing professor in all respects. He knows the material inside and out, get's interesting discussions going, and his lectures are always succinct and thought-provoking. The work load is beyond reasonable, and Thielke does a good job of not overwhelming students who are unfamiliar with the course material.

Great guy who doesn't overwhelm his students with too much work, yet still manages to impart tremendous amounts of knowledge. His class is half lecture half discussion in which he presents the positions of various philosophers for the class to think through and then challenge. In the future, I'll specifically look for his classes.
