I found this class really difficult because there is SO MUCH MATERIAL. It so was so hard to keep up but try not to get behind or you'll screw yourself. Phil however, was quite impressive with his dedication to the class (300+ students NO TA's), by giving out his home number and telling you to call him day or night.

Phil is the man. I love him. He doesnt mind if you conference call him at 2AM the night before the exam and he knows everyone's name in a class of 200! Lab is easy, tests are hard, but study and you'll do fine. Dont buy the book and turn your cell phone off before class!!!!

tests are pretty simple; multiple choice and true/false. there is an extra credit paper too (5pgs single spaced for 20pts). you don't need the text book at all. he's an awesome teacher. take him.

Phil is a pretty nice guy, but if you're not a science person DON'T take this class!! during lecture he goes way too fast on key topics, and then expects you to know minute details about it. lab isn't too bad, but be aware that you'll learn separate material and have separate tests...! if you need a lab science, take envr101

He knows everyone by name! Lab mandatory, lecture is not (he puts slides on blackboard.) Don't buy the textbook. Do the extra credit paper (if you have a 100 average, you exempt the final.) Know EVERYTHING on the slides & you will get a good grade. He even gives you his home number to call him anytime (we called @ 10pm the night before the final!)

Phil is awesome! He grades fairly and knows every single person's name. He pokes fun at psychology majors just because he likes us better so if you're a psych major be prepared to have a sense of humor.

Phil is extremely friendly and gets to know everyone personally. To get an A you need to go to all the labs but lectures are only necessary if you're bad at studying. Do the EC paper!! To study use the BOOK combined with the SLIDES and they are a breeze... his tests are 60 questions but 50 correct is 100%! He is very understanding. Great lab.

Phil was one of my favorite teachers! It is amazing how he gets to know every one of his students on a personal level. There is a lot of material covered for each test so I highly recommend you start studying early. There is also a quiz is lab every week. I highly suggest you do the extra credit obesity paper, it will add 5 points to each test.

Phil is a nice guy, but boring. The tests aren't too hard if you studied alot for them. I would start studying two days before and get a high B/low A. The extra credit obesity paper helps alot, so do it. I got what I expected from this class; if you do the work, you'll get a B or A. If you don't study, you will fail.

Phil is pretty much amazing. The class is overall easy, but if you don't study or go to class (mainly the labs) you're screwed. He makes the material interesting for everyone and is literally available to help you 24/7. If you're decent at remembering large amounts of info and writing essays, you'll get an A

Phil is one of the most laid back instructors I've ever had. There's a lot of work to keep up with between lecture and lab, but nothing that's not manageable. He can be stubborn about stuff, but that's because he really wants you to learn the stuff on your own. If you took Bio in high school, you'll be fine in 110.

I LOVE PHIL!!!!! This class is so easy. I'm not even a biology/science major and I had a great time with this class. You don't have to go to lecture, but you do have to attend lab. The labs are a lot of fun and easy. As long as you study, you will make a great grade in this class. He is so nice and helpful. There is no 8pg paper like some1 said.

Phil's a nice guy, but stubborn about grades. He does not curve at all! Lab quizes were easy if you studied...attendence not mandatory, but gives extra credit for those that do come all semester.

This was a pretty easy class. Although lecture attendence was not mandatory, he did occasionally take it. Labs are easy and will definitelly help you out later on. The lecture is estremely big. All of the notes are on blackboard, so you really dont have to attend class at all. And you definitely dont need the textbook!

Phil, was great! the tests are straight from the notes. I think people make the material and tests harder than they are. Seriously study the power points and if you don't get it then read the book. Lots of extra credit.

Everyone told me to take Chem 105 or 107, but off of a whim I took this class. I dont regret my descion at all. Phil is EXTREMLY fair and understands that U ARE NOT a bio major; therefore nothing in this class is acumlative nor does he way u down with small details to memorize. slideshows are online but may be hard to follow if u dont go to class.
