I had her back in 1983-84 and loved her class. I discovered partway through the year that I was gay and she handled my concerns about studying and coming out as if she was an empathetic therapist. She was very sensitive to my needs at the time. She always made this seminar course wonderful as she engaged us to bring up our opinions.

This is the worst history prof I have had. Classes were boring and assigned readings were never discussed. Good example of how NOT to teach history - no wonder so many find it boring.

Found her to be very unprofessional. Loves to try and fail you for plagiarism. A couple of classmates questioned some of the inaccurate information she was giving us in some of the classes and she accused them of plagiarism. They appealed and the committee overturned her decision because there was no case.

Very ****, biased prof who delights in accusing students of plagiarism, regardless of whether or not it's true. Was very interested in the course prior to taking it but by the end, I'd almost grown to hate it. Information presented was very biased and not accurate but based on personal feelings and beliefs, not truth.

I don't know why she's a professor - she sat in the corner while we taught ourselves! A warning: don't write a paper on anti-semitism, she teaches another course on that topic and you'll get a crappy mark, no matter how brilliant your paper is!

the most boring seminar ever... EVER. Unclear assignment guidelines, unclear marking guidelines. I also felt she was biased, but if you can play on that you'll do well.

Pretty biased and yes - I found her anti-Christian, too and not, as others have said, critical of Christianity. Believed that Jesus Christ was anti-semitic and misinterpreted particular Bible passages in order to support her view. Might have been a decent prof had she been less biased.

Senese is an old-school prof. Very fast paced lectures with a lot of content. You will definately learn a lot from her. Does spend a large chunk of the term on background history (around a month!) that could have been done in a week. Rather difficult marker, but very interesting.

Tests only on readings which are never discussed in class, but only wants "general themes" which was good. This class has little to do with Canadian History. Pretty easy class if you just want to not show up and read the articles. And write your own work or SHE'LL BUST YOUR ASS!

I like her. She's fair and very clear, and nice. I liked how she puts the emphasis on understanding the general concepts instead of having to memorize a bunch of dates, names, and events. Makes tests less stressful- easier to study for! Focuses on what's important-not supid things we'll forget anywa

Definitely not "anti-Christian", she criticizes all **** rhetoric, a lot of which comes from Christians. Fascinating class and stimulating lectures. Senese seems very well informed and she is easy to approach for help and discussion. Highly recommended.

There's a difference between being "anti-Christian" and being critical of Christianity; she's critical but fair. Very interesting, clear, lectures if you're into in the subject. She's really helpful when asking for help about papers and great to talk to in office hours or via e-mail. Nice person!

Very biased and very Anti-Christian. Thankfully we didn't get into the Islamic faith very much or I'm sure similar biases would have emerged. Infomation was not always the most accurate, either, and based on her personal opinoin and her own biases and prejudices, rather than fact.

Horrible Class. Tests are based soley on the reading which are NEVER discussed in class. The organization is awful. I would never take the class again! One of the worst classes I have taken in my history career.
