Worst class ever and hardest tests ever. His lectures are on-line, filled with pages and pages of information to memorize and yet very few questions on his test. His tests are so difficult because there is no clear direction given on what to study.

Comment:
Dr. Bhuta really doesn't care about his students and because of that, the class is near impossible, especially if you want to understand the material, let alone get a good grade. It is true that he uses a test bank and get ready to spend 4-6 hours per chapter studying. The class average for every test was either failing or close to it.

A lot of students complain about him being too tough, but if you're in a 400 level course, you should be ready for this. A bit of an accent, but he's understandable and he will clarify if you ask. Intelligent, approachable, and nice. Can also be convinced to change a score if you reason with him. Records his lectures so you can rewatch as needed

If you're taking micro 235, he is a hard professor. But you also have to realize that this is not a class that should be a priority for him. He uses a test bank, unfortunately the book has little to do with the test bank. Get and study the test bank online and you'll be fine. He's a very nice person and pretty funny.

No matter how much you read, he will pick such a detail in the test or phrase the question this way that you will have no clue what to answer. The best score I've seen on the test was 80%. Half of his lecture he was trying to be funny and I was trying to figure out what he says (heavy accent). As for help from him - do not expect.

Tough professor, but well worth it! He is extremely knowledgable and is the most approachable and kindest professor you can find. He's always willing to help and will clarify any material that is confusing for students (even if it takes up extra class time). Exams are lecture (ppt's) based and the book is seldom used for clarification.

As a 4.0 student, this is the most that I have ever struggled in a class. If I'd had the option to, I'd have dropped the class and taken it with a different professor. We only met in the classroom 2 days a week, one of them had a 50 question exam covering 2 or 3 chapters, all of which required memorizing super specific details. Avoid if you can.

there is tests, lectures and book reading. Are you expect them to have some connection? yes! but not in this class. Tests every week on 2 to 3 chapters, some lectures unclear, seem like he read it first before lecturing, especially about infection disiases. you'd love test on those - memorizing up to 25 diseases in one week? Yeap, that's what love.

he doesn't make his own tests, rambles in lectures. i had 50 question tests every thursday over two chapters sometimes three, all quarter. tests go in to way too much detail, especially when he does not emphasize what to study. He made about 5 study guides that were broad and sometimes irrelevant.

Best bio prof at EWU! You can see his love for science through his lectures and discusses relevant/interesting biology issues. His tegrity lectures are helpful and he is a nice guy. Stick to your notes more than the book. I would recommend him for any biology class :)

This class got off to a rough start, the class days changed after class started and the text book was on back order. Not an easy A but the exam questions if you studied the right things; he used a test bank so it was better to study the book rather than listen in class.

In my 4 years at Eastern, He is absolutely by far thee worst teacher that I have ever had. Buy the mgraw hill textbook testbank on-line because he uses premade tests..Easy A otherwise you're screwed because he just rambles.

Class is so disorganized. Lectures do not follow book at all, but online quizzes come from the book. Tests are not created by him, he just pulls from online and are never consistent with lecture material. I am usually a 3.5 and up student and I have a 2.2 in this class.

Terrible professor. Highly unorganized and his expectations are unclear. The online quizzes are impossible and he did not help us to prepare for exams at all. The plus group leaders don't even know how to help us. If it wasn't for the fact that this class is only offered once a year, I would drop.

Would not recommend this professor to anyone who needs a passing grade. I am a 4.0 student and I am barley keeping a 1.8 in his class right now. Quizzes online do not correlate with what he is teaching or what is in the book. He is difficult to understand (not just talking about the accent). I am withdrawing from the class tomorrow.

Dr. Bhuta was an amazing instructor! He made class very enjoyable and has a good sense of humor. I took virology with him and he was very knowledgeable in the subject. He was always willing to help and you can really tell he cares about his students learning. He is my favorite professor at Eastern, and I would love to take a class from him again!

If you work hard, you can get good grades. Lectures are entertaining and filled with useful information. He is easily accessible for extra help. I was not sure of his teaching style first, but then more the class developed, more I liked it. I recommend his classes to everyone interested in modern biology. Good job Dr. B
