Took 3 of her classes. She's very sympathetic to students, don't know what other raters are talking about. Her door is always open, and I've literally spent multiple hours getting help from her for various assignments. She's always interested to receive feedback from her students personally, which I think is sweet.

Incredibly unhelpful and unsympathetic to illness. Failed the class under her, then got an A- the second time around. Didn't let me know I was failing until it was too late to drop. Took far too much convincing (doctor's note, talking with deans) for her to believe I was really sick (I had mono). Would never take a class from her again.

I really liked Yang for E4 so I chose her for stems recitation. I felt like she had a different agenda than the other profs & when I'd be really confused on an assignment someone else would mention that their prof did an example just like it. I felt like she regurgitated the information from lecture and did not go over examples & practice ?'s well

While I hated stems, Prof. Yang is not to blame for that. I disagree with some other comments. I had no difficulty understanding her lectures, either because of clarity in presentation, or command of English. Relative to other professors in the engineering department, I felt she was less sadistic and more sympathetic to student concerns.
