Randall Blair's lectures are boring and uninspiring through out the semester. He doesn't seem enthused by what he does or his student's ideas in the class. He is a tough and often confusing grader. He made us read and work on a script he wrote about him having an affair with a student. It was rough to read and to be honest gross.

His Producing class covers a lot of good information even though it suffers a bit because of his lackluster delivery. Not difficult, but does require work. You get out what you put in.

Just UGH. Blair is totally useless. He's a relic of a time when no one knew much about his field and he could BS without anyone catching on. Now, anyone can tell how recycled and unoriginal his lectures are. A total waste of time. Really, I don't know what made him get up one morning and teach when he so clearly has a total lack of inspiration.

Blair is out of date. He has not kept current with the industry and is not giving students the most useful information. His assignments are mainly busy work that would not pass muster in the real world. You would get much more from reading a book. The only hard part of the class is trying to figure out what he's thinking so you can pass his exams.

Its one of the few classes that you really learn how to do something. Its a good course with a LOT of homework so don't take it if you already have a heavy load. Blair has been a producer and speaks from his experience. You can learn everything he knows from reading a book, easily. Since those who can't do, teach.

I don't know what the other reviewer was thinking. Randall clearly knows what he's talking about and he's an effective teacher as well. Unlike too many teachers at AU who assign pointless assignments that do nothing other than waste students' time, Randall's assignments are reasonanble and useful.
