I took Kalia for pre-calc. Mainly he did proofs. Proofs are basically worthless to non-math majors. He stated repeatedly that graphing didn't matter. Got to calc, guess what - its all GRAPHING!! Trig was supposed to be half the class. He blew through it in 3 1/2 weeks. We didn't learn anything. I suffered in calc 1 for that. Terrible teacher! PASS!

If you can get by with teaching yourself from the book no need to go to class because he reads straight from it. Seems completely unprepared each day and he takes the first few minutes looking over what he is going to lecture. Hardly assigns any homework but expects you to do a couple hours of math each night because he can't teach. Joke of a prof

Dr. Kalia is a nice person but a horrible math professor. He openly mocks people that ask questions in class. Many people asked for clarification on topics early in the semester and he would say "It did not fall from the heavens." It didn't take long for people to just stop asking. Avoid him if at all possible.

Goes off topic way too much and does math for less than half the class period because he likes to tell stories. He doesnt like to use the methods in the book so its confusing, so buy the book!!!! His tests are easy if you know what youre doing, but each question can be worth 5 to 20 points each with NO partial credit if you get it wrong.

This professor is THE WORST!!! I knew he was a sh*tty professor but I had to take him because it was the only time I could take it. He is rude AF and he only wants things done his way or else he'll get all butt hurt and stuff. He ALWAYS made mistakes in class and whoever points it out will get yelled at. HIS TESTS WERE SUPER HARD TOO!

He goes over things very slow, and seems to like the history of math more than the math itself. Over all he seems to be decent. My only big problem with him is that he doesn't do anything about grades until after the final exam, and doesn't tell you if he grades on a curve or not.

I took Professor Kalia for pre-calc, and I feel he does an amazing job at going slowly through the book to allow others to really grasp the material. He's huge into actually proving WHY equations and theories work. He loves telling quirky stories throughout class! Overall, I would take another class with him at SCSU.

Let's just say that if he was my math teacher in middle school, I would have hated math. He teaches OK but he's so arrogant, pompous and really condescending. I would recommend him for anyone. STAY AWAY FROM HIS CLASSES!!

Ravi is a terrible teacher overall. Though calculus is generally regarded as a tough subject, Ravi makes it impossible. Very sloppy handwriting, heavy accent and different pronunciations make clarity non-exsistant. Must do the problems 100% correct and HIS WAY or no credit for problem on test. Random stories and tangents are funny, but distract

Not the best prof. Spends a lot of time teaching the history of math rather than actual calculus. Doesn't explain very well and his handwriting is hard to read, which is tough because you cant always understand him. Also late or absent a lot. Wouldn't take him if you had other options.

This instructor sucks. He tells random stories, has very hard tests and is not available for any coaching. He doesn't tell you the date of the final until the very last second and will not work with you if you aren't able to get there. He doesn't post any grades all semester and two questions wrong on a test equals an F. Reading the book is easier.

His handwriting is sloppy and hard to read, and he makes a lot of mistakes while writing a problem and students usually just end up confused. His teaching methods are dry and boring and very old style.

He not as bad as he first appears (first impression was not good at all). He goes slow and explains the lessons very well in class. He is very repetitive but it helps in the end as you realize he was putting emphasize on what you'll be tested on. His ability to talk to students isn't the greatest and can be kind of condescending.

By far the worst professor ever. I am pretty sure everyone in my class failed. Not only does he not teach step by step, but he writes impossible test that you can't figure out when you just learned how to prove the theorum. Why does he prove them when someone else obviously already has, it is called a theorem for a reason, I will never know.

He is a great teacher. I know he does not have great reviews here, but he always teaches his students short cuts to most problems. Very fair grader. There were numerous times that he gave quizes and even part of his exams as 'take home'. Very relaxed and chilled person, highly recommend.

He is the worst math teacher I have ever had. He only had 3 tests and a final. It will take him 2-3 weeks to grade tests, and when he does, he VERY often messes them up. His tests are incredibly inconsistent and often times cover material not yet covered in class. Do not take his class.

Gave a B on a test with 100% correct answers. Docked points for using The actual theorem instead of his process. Does not remember which class he teaches what material, then refuses to "reteach" the material he never taught. MATH325
