You basically have to rewrite everything on every exam exactly as she wrote it on the board, even if it's incorrect. She's always looking for a specific answer, her own, but she never comes out and says what it is. Claims she "cares", but only appears to care about her ego. I consider myself lucky I only had to take two classes with her.

She has very limited knowledge outside of the notes that she copied from the text book. If you ask her anything outside of her notes she won't be able to answer it, instead she we get confused herself and make the whole class confuse. Understanding the concept does not matter to her. You need to write her own notes in the exam word by word!

She prefers not to teach, but to play with her students for the benefit of her own ego, constantly trying to punish students who see her as the incompetent she is. Tests ignore key concepts in favor of bizarre, specific questions testing your attention to her rambling incoherent lectures. Mean, sad old women using her position to get attention

This class will be fairly easy if you have experience with a language like C++. The labs are simple if you show up and put effort in. She tends to be a bit all over the place, and on occasion has to delay a problem on the board until she can explain it properly, but she is willing to put in time outside of class to help you. Very nice person.

Unorganized professor. Does not teach at the same level of other professors. Limited knowledge in the computer science area resulting in students not doing well after this course. If one wants to learn and excel in their courses avoid this professor. Wording on tests is poor and expects more than what she asks for; does not grade consistently.

Class was super easy. A bit disorganized. I definitely recommend this class and this professor. Oh and do show up. She lets you use a cheat sheet on the midterm and final. Get the book. She throws out questions on the test and final if enough people get them wrong.

I had an easy time due to my prior experience, however those who are new to a programming language like C++ will struggle without reading the book and practicing. She sometimes makes mistakes (she just started teaching again), and it is clear her expertise/passion isn't C++ alone, however I found her to be a fun and helpful professor.

If you planning on taking CSCI 301, do not take Fisher for 201. 301 is more advanced and all the professors expect a really strong understanding of C++. You won't get that with Fisher in 201. Of all the students that are in 301, the ones who took Fisher for 201 struggle the most (including me). She won't prepare you properly and I feel duped.

Very nice lady, somewhat spacey but she does care about what she is teaching. Everything she uses is in the book so very easy to review for tests.

Very unorganized. She royally messed up explaining if/else statements and it got her so flustered she couldnt focus for the rest of the class. testing is horrible, you have to write syntactically correct code or you get it all wrong, which she states you dont have to write code on her exams. labs are fairly easy. totally unorganized.

CSCI 201 was so much fun because of her. She is super personable and explains things really well. She also goes over it two-three times so even if you don't understand it the first time, you'll get it. As long as you write down what she puts on the board and understand the material, you'll get an A. She's still the best teacher I've had at SCSU.

Grading methods are all over the place and lectures even more so, but she's laid back, willing to help and doesn't do anything overwhelming. Which is more than I can say for other profs in the comp sci deparment.

Fisher is a bit unorganized, but cares about students. She knows the material well, but she doesn't always know how to explain it to students or answer questions. Simple programming assignment and closed lab each week. A few quizzes, a midterm and a final. Erratic way of grading, we lost points for odd reasons. Overall, a good prof. Taking for 201.

Nice person, but utterly useless in teaching and testing the material. Says you won't need to memorize code but does exactly that on the tests. Homework and labs are easy, though.

The class was basically a bunch of random activities with JavaScript with a small handful of quizzes and tests that aren't necessarily hard but are poorly constructed and the way she grades is very questionable. Lectures are useless and unprepared. Didn't get as much out of the class as I hoped I would have.

lectures are confusing. You have to ask for help to the Professor and TA constantly. If you do that it's an easy 'A' grade for you.

Tests and quizzes are so poorly worded and thought out combined with her frustrating ways of grading will drag your grade down immensely. Lectures are totally pointless as she doesn't really teach anything. The labs are fun but you don't learn any real application too them. They're just activities.

The labs are fun and useful and she's a very relaxed teacher. But her lectures are unorganized, unprepared, filler and sometimes have little to do with the actual coding material. The tests and quizzes are poorly written and her grading method is inconsistent. Making it hard to get an A if you don't write word for word from what's out of the book.
