Comment:

Rebecca is one of my favorite professors at NYU. She creates an interesting and welcoming enviornment that made me look forward to going to class all the time. Workload's pretty light and I never felt overwhelemed. She really made me love poetry and feel more comfortable writing my own! Class is great for English Ed majors and I'm glad I took it!

Comment:

Talks a lot about herself. Grading isn't terrible, but it takes her forever to grade assignments. Doesn't use gradebook, so it is difficult to keep track of grade. Overall nice, and tries to keep class interesting with good readings. Class should have been less personal, and more on the material being read.

Rebecca Packer is one of the most wonderful professors I have ever had. She really cares about her students, the subject matter at hand and she is just fun! The only negative thing about her is that she does not stay on schedule and her syllabus is constantly changing.

I know most people like Prof. Packer, and I do too. She's a nice lady who has a good rapport with her students. But the class discussions about texts were pretty lightweight. The problem is that the class is geared toward modeling a high school classroom. That's fine, but I sometimes felt like I was being treated like I was 16 years old.

Amazing teacher. I had her after I transferred to NYU and her poetry class was the best class I ever took at NYU. She was also my Supervisor for student teaching and she has shaped my pedagogy as a teacher now. Anyone is lucky to have such an intriguing and warm hearted individual as a professor.

I feel like I know the person that rated her before me. I'm assuming it's a girl so I'll just say I agree with what she says. Rebecca can be very insightful but also condescending. All in all though, she has an amazing energy and zest that really shines through most of what she teaches.

Probably the best professor I've had at NYU. Entertaining, interesting, and enlightening. Sometimes a little insane and overanalytical but very insightful. Talented at inadvertently making students feel stupid, but values and is interested in all students' ideas. Clearly passionate about lit and teaching. Frankly, I would marry Rebecca if I could.

Literacy and Language Education in Multiethnic and Multicultural Classrooms. Fantastic. Literacy is clearly her passion. In-class time is a little tedious at times, but it always involves the class. this woman nspirede me to change my career. she is not a good pedagogical teacher, however, she rocks with literature. She cannot be precise and be held accountable for her instructions. Changees heer mid frequently and hurts you in the end. Take another teacheer if you can...
