I took this class for my history requirement thinking it was a lower level history course, little did I know this class would be a nightmare. He does not know how to make powerpoint with the same info on each slide. The tests are not clear questions. You have discussion boards that have MULTIPLE parts based on a MASSIVE article to read. Good luck!

Rene Reeves is a very good teacher. He has a clear passion for his work and cares about his students. He is not only understanding but is willing to meet during office hours to help out. He is a tough grader but is clear on what is expected in all work. Although I am a history major I believe anyone could enjoy and pass his American History class.

A fantastic professor that gets students involved when ever possible and uses readings to motivate class concepts. He will never ask you to do something just from the reading but only if hes discussed it him self. Participation is a huge chunk of your grade, but it sets you up to blow away the finals. Do what he says and you'll get 4.0 no problem

Professor Reeves is an amazing professor! I am currently in US history 2 with him and he is extremely accessible, always answers his emails and goes above and beyond to help his students. HIs lectures are great and the discussion classes are a lot of fun. There is reading and online quizzes but just show up for the classes and you will do fine!

A pretty easy professor; there are weekly tests online but they're short and pretty easy. He assigns 3 essays, which are annoying but again not too hard. His class structures are class discussions and lectures, the lectures get long and a bit boring since he reads off a script. He offers a lot of extra credit which is nice.

He was a great teacher. The lectures get really boring really quickly because he reads off a script but other than that it was fine. There are weekly online test where you have to read chapters in the book so you can pass them. Essays are easy as long as you don't procrastinate. Very nice and reasonable. Always available to answer questions

I enjoyed the class because of him and would definitely take him again. Knows his stuff and knows how to teach it well. This class was very difficult, but Rene is an astounding teacher! He's helpful, friendly and very approachable. The classes are fun, even if the reading was a little dull. He's a good teacher, but you have to read, and EDIT your essays! Look at the rubrics for clarity on assessments.

Funny how some things never change. I took his classes 10 years ago for my undergrad and he taught the same way! Reeves is a great guy; he loves history and is very knowledgeable/helpful. You have to participate in the classroom discussions or you will be bored out of your mind. Read the book and follow syllabus instructions and you'll do well!

Does not consider student's other course load, and considers his class to be most important above all. Incredibly difficult to work with on formatting papers. Classes are stale and rely heavily upon student's involvement. Does little to encourage coming to class each day. Would not recommend to anyone.

For the most part, a pretty simple class. Extremely boring, but he does remember everyones name & tries to get a lot of participation, but since I have 8ams with him, rarely anyone talks. Very structured class. Lecture, Discussion, Repeat. But he's really helpful & tries to have fun.

Decent teacher. Quizzes contain 10 ?s and most of the ?s are straightforward. He uses words to trick you. The quizzes are timed. He lectures and is kind. René also requires students to write 3-three page papers.

good teacher. classes are boring. if you dont like to talk in class, find something else. theres a discussion grade which is based on the comments you make in class. tests are easy and online. he drops one, lowest score. DONT PROCRASTINATE the four discussion essays. i did. oops. you can get a good grade if you put in the effort. not impossible.
