Seminar format with really engaging discussions and lectures. Great critical thinker and prompts students to work to her standards. If you don't keep up with the readings you'll get lost, but the midterm/final were prepped essay-questions that were very reasonable.

Comment:

Renisa is an awesome professor, who is incredibly intelligent and will make you think critically about things. Just one thing, you have to read. A LOT. She gives the questions ahead of time for exams and midterms, but if you want to participate in class, it's good to do the readings beforehand.

Definitely an interesting character and definitely has an ego, somewhat of a snob, however it's undeniable that she knows her stuff and has plenty of interesting things to say. Lays out clearly what she expects for papers and if you write it her way, you'll do fine.

Go to class. Her exam content is split up fairly amongst lecture notes, textbook readings and custom reading package. There's no other way around her exams. GREAT lectures! She brought in so many fascinating guest (e.g. Wally Opal) speakers and diff. perspectives. Very clear and comprehensive. COME TO CLASS and take GOOD NOTES. Very tricky MCQs so read your material and notes carefully. Overall, GREAT professor, VERY INTERESTING and she will inspire interest in you!

Very helpful and understanding prof. She definitely knows what being a student is like and is very willing to accommodate you if you're having a problem. Interesting course, but readings were a bit too heavy and very hard to get through. Overall, a very sweet prof. Would take one of her classes again.

TAKE THIS CLASS! super easy if you put a decent amount of effort into it (do the reading before the exams/class assignments etc). Material very common sensical, yet somehow not dry. Not crazy stimulating, but simple, easygoing and effective. Marking fair, projects fair, exams fair. Perfect elective for poli sci or phil - coordinated nicely.

This class was really interesting if you can get past the prof's attitude. She knows her stuff but is soo snooty. Sure she's hot, but not that hot. Teaches from a narrowminded Canadian-only perspective. Lectures are good, slides are outdated/boring, brought in an interesting guest lecturer from the safe-injection site. Overall a good course.

She is really HOT!!! Beside that, there is no point to take her class. It is better to read her notes than attending the lectures. Hard exams. A lot stuff to cover. You will be copying down the notes all the time in the lecture. Not so helpful outside class.
