This class was pretty boring. Dr. Peters' slides just have pictures so good luck taking notes. The TA taught me everything. Just study the 'questions to ponder' he gives every day in class. Exam questions are straight from those. Nice curve and is willing to help in office hours. Lectures were pretty pointless.

This guy knows his stuff. Very informative lectures, knows how to answer almost any biochemistry question you could ask. Tests can be a bit finicky but for the most part the requirements are clear and if you put in the work you will do well.

If you want to learn, take BBM 301 with Dr. Peters. One of the best professors I had at ISU. He is a genius and truly cares about his students to learn and understand the material. His tests are very fair. He gives you study guides for every chapter he lectures on, and the exams are pretty similar to the study guides.

He taught this class with another profe. The first profe was very straight forward and all of her text questions came off the ppts. Peters really forces you to come to class by only putting pictures on the slides but you learn the material better. He's really tough but if you come to class, listen, and use a recorder you will do fine!

Very poor professor. Refuses to post practice problems (i.e. the previous year's exam) until less than a week before exam. Exam questions are purposely written to be tricky rather than to test your knowledge of the material. Lectures are useless and confusing - you are better off simply reading the text. Very disappointed.

I was very dissatisfied with this course; exam questions were NOT based on information from instructor's notes. If you have an undergraduate degree in molecular biology, you'll probably pass (maybe). His arrogant persona is not too appealing either.

Professor is absolutely useless.He took a month to post up answers keys to the tests, he rarely responded to discussion posts and didn't respond to personal e-mails (even when referencing personal questions).He's arrogant and acts like he's too good to be teaching this class.Exams were ridiculous and practice exams were nothing like real ones.

this class was just hard in general but peters seemed that he wanted to make it harder. there is a very generous curve because over half the class would fail without it. he's not a friendly person and makes test questions that test your deciphering abilities rather than your knowledge.

Unbelievable how ridiculous this class is. The lectures and book are ALWAYS at odds and the test questions are written to be purposely misleading. Another quality Iowa State grad level class!
