Comment:
This guy is literally the worst teacher at MSOE. He consistently doesn't "teach" but rather does examples that he's confused himself about to try and prove how smart he is to you, except we don't care. He grades exams terribly, if you don't do it his way get ready for 0 credit and an F in the class.

Not a huge fan, does not explain things very well and does not give a clear answer all the time. Will make you redo something if something miniscule is wrong

The lecture are hard to sit through sometimes. The homework can sometimes be very long. But overall, I had a good experience. There is an extra credit lab that you can do to boost your grade by one letter grade. Exams were similar to the hw so if you do your hw, you should have no problem.

Students beware. Semiconductor physics is a notorious course as it is and Dr. Mett made it near impossible. Long, confusing lectures that often went way off course. Homework was extremely long and difficult. Mett often wouldn't get you all the information required for the homework or wouldn't cover it until a day before it's due. Difficult exams.

Comment:
Pr. Mett's lectures are pretty bad. He will often forget what he is solving for and get wrong answers. However, Physics 1 concepts are not too challenging and if you find a few smart people to teach you how to do the reviews the class will be fairly easy. The tests are the reviews with different numbers. His homework is pretty time consuming.

Richard is not the best lecturer, but he whole heartedly wants all his students to get good grades, he offered our class an extra credit assignment worth up to 7% of our overall grade which could boost you an entire letter. He also gives out study guides the week before tests that are exactly like the test just with different numbers.

He is a very cool dude and teaches the material very well. He gives hard homework but you can email him and he will give you a hint. It's great.

He has no command over the subject. You will have to spend half your time learning the material by yourself while doing the graded homework. He doesn't use the book so learning is basically done through Google. He doesn't explain the material and won't give examples. His labs are equally as bad. He doesn't explain what he wants or how to do it.

I had Dr. Mett for Physics 1 lab. He is a chill guy that teaches well and is not super picky on the lab reports. He would rather have you correct your mistakes than give you a bad grade. I haven't had him for lecture, but he was good for lab. It is easy to get an A if you put in the work, which isn't unreasonable by any means.

He is awful. He hands out absolutely RIDICULOUS homework assignments that take forever to complete and do not help to prepare you for tests. He often is incredibly unclear when he speaks and answers questions. He ruined my passion for physics and I am dreading any classes in the future that I might have to take with him.

He know what he means. Nobody in the class is able to follow him though. His style is to do the hardest problems before he teaches the material. The homework is very challenging. (and he grades tough) He gives practice test, which is slightly helpful.

Certainly not an easy teacher, assignments are weekly and are designed to be challenging. You will always receive a practice test that will look very similar to the real thing, be careful with the theory based questions, those will be different. Overall, a good professor and a good guy to talk to.

Mett is a great teacher if you pay attention. Not as hard as everyone says he is. He gives you homework and if you can do that you can get an A in the Class

Great person, okay professor. Gets side-tracked in class and unfortunately teaches most of the hw material the day before it's due. Start the hw a few days early and ask questions in class and you'll be fine. Gives practice exams that are pretty much the same as the actual exam. Does research for the medical college - makes him a certified B.A.

He's a very smart guy, got his graduate degree at Berkley and does research at the Medical College while teaching. I think he teaches well for a rather confusing subject. If you try hard in the class, you will walk away knowing your stuff.

Good guy, tough teacher. His major drawback is that he doesn't have enough organization when teaching. He gets caught up in the material trying to teach you all the intricacies while not teaching the core material well enough. If he would focus a little more in class and have a set outline of what he was going to say the class would be very good.
