Comment:

Professor Swaim is like an open book; very smart man. This is my first class with him and may be my last, I believe he is leaving. However, he seems passionate about government and politics. Was surprised by grade on first paper and I really appreciate the opportunity to do re-writes. Hoping for an A or B.

I have taken Swaim's courses one several occasions. If you are a GVPP major there is no avoiding him as he is the only Professor teaching Senior Seminar. Impossible to take notes, does not use texts to refer to and is not good with e-mails. However, knowing his teaching/grading methods... My advice is do not have an opinion. Personally, I like him.

Professor is too inconsistent. Lecture has nothing to do with anything. He jumps from topic to topic. It's hard to even take notes. The paper requirements are too vague. He wants mind readers but doesn't open up his mind at all. He's pathetic. Amer.Gov was my favorite topic - he is horrible. I should've dropped the course earlier.

I have never had a problem writing a paper, until I took Swaim's class. It was not structured. He wants mind readers. Every paper is supposed to be based off of his thoughts and opinions, but he doesn't explain himself well enough for a person to write a paper to his liking. Expect to rewrite practically every assignment he gives you. He is a mess.

Swaim is a character, that is for sure. I don't quite know what I am supposed to get out of this class but I do know I am getting an easy A and 3 credits so that's enough for me. I don't see the ego issues people have mentioned; he is pretty mellow and entertaining.

( E-mailed questions two weeks ago no response)4. 4 weeks into the course have yet to receive feed back on post. 5. Notes concist of a VERY brief overview of what you are supposed to read! Save your money! This professor does very little while expecting alot. The class structure is extremely disorganized. This professor provides very little guidance and support. If you want a professor who is interested in educating students Professor Swaim is not a good option. I agree alot of ego but not much of anything else
