Comment:

Majority of our class was an online component! So I was able to take tests open book and able to use internet for all of the tests and find the tests online! He gives group project projects and does not explain any of it which is a big problem that bought down my grade

Comment:

He is an amazing teacher who is able to make you laugh during every single class. However, that's not even the best part. He has no exams or quizzes and the only assignments you'll have are easy projects. He gives great extra credit opportunities at the end of the semester, and is willing to help you if you are struggling with a certain concept.

I don't understand Osborn receiving bad reviews. He's a straight-shooter who's tests come straight out of the notes. I took him every opportunity that I had. The only students that I saw struggling were those who aren't good note takers and too thick to realize that the words, "you'll want to underline this", are code for, "this'll be on the test."

Comment:

Osborn is a one way or no way kinda teacher when it comes to his quizzes. But, most are take home and if not they are open book. Because of that, he expects the perfect answer. He's very lenient on the grade for group presentations. They're not bad. Students grade half of both presentations. Interesting class. Gets grades back quick.

this class will be phased out soon. but the class involves solving cases in groups w4 parts in the process. osborn believes in HIS WAY OR THE HIGHWAY if you dont think his way exactly then you are not right, which makes his class tough&compares your work to the rest of the class and grades you based on in HIS OPINION the best. I have had Professor Obsorn 4 times already at York. I had him for prinsiples of marketing which made me want to make marketing my minor and I also had him for retailing, international marketing and business marketing. He teaches his classes in a way that makes it fun and interesting. I especially like when he gives pre-made outlines for class.

If you go to his classes and put an hour into reading the text book chapter each week, then this is an easy A. Tests are really straight forward and many questions come from practice quizzes online. Class is interesting and goes by quickly. He has definitely improved from past ratings.

Very cool guy...laid back, likes to joke around, totally easy to get along with. Class is an interesting but manageable mix of lecture and group presentations. Having a quiz every week on a chapter is actually nice because you don't have to cram in much info, and they're multiple choice too. Does provide opportunity for easy extra credit as well.

I have taken him for everything that I possibly can. It is a very interesting class, gives a lot of examples and encourages group discussion. Only minus was international marketing..that class sucked, so if u arent in the major dont take it. But if there is an opportunity to take him...jump on it!!!

My gosh, I love this guy. He is funny, and very helpful. He gives you the note outline to print (gay now due to the pay to print bit though), and he just has you fill it in as he talks. Attendance doesn't matter, but the tests are directly from the notes. I didn't even buy the book...cake course, TAK HIM!

I had Osborn for several classes, and I'll continue to take him. He's easy to relate to, and helpful outside of class also, which is more than you can expect out of most professors at York. The bad ratings are from people that nitpick about water bottles and cellphone holsters.. ridiculous.

OK class, had to do a huge paper that was a waste of time and stupid discussion questions. Did offer lots of bonus points. Take a quiz every week. Class is really boring, but able to get an A if ya do the work. Class grades each other more than what he grades you.
