Probably one of my favorite teachers I have ever taken. Read your books and talk in class, he loves participation. Quizzes are fairly simple and almost always have bonus. If you're not great at writing just go see him, he wants to help you. He cares about his students, and he shows it. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

The most fun Professor I've ever had at Tech. He makes discussion entertaining and isn't afraid to be himself/personable. 10/10 would take again. He's just a nice old man.

He was great! I really enjoyed his class. He seemed intimidating at first but he's actually pretty funny and definitely cares about his students. There were two tests that weren't too hard and had no unexpected material. He has daily quizzes, drops three, and do the assigned reading as Sparknotes isn't enough. Be sure to take good notes!

He definitely knows what he's talking about. There's a lot of reading, but lectures consist of talking about the books you read. Only 2 tests and a paper but daily quizzes. Just read and you'll do fine.

Dr. Simmons is a wonderful professor. He is very genuine and frank in his classes and enjoys his subject. He cares that the class understands the material and loves to have discussions about the material; not just the usual lecturing like you would expect for a lower level English. He can be tough but if you reach out for help you will get it.

One of my favorite professors at Tech! This class is by no means difficult if you actually read the material and participate. DO NOT use Sparknotes, etc. This won't help you out when it comes time to write your essays for the Midterm or Final. He is always willing to help you in any way he can. He will not give you a grade you did not earn, though!

You need to read the poetry 2-3 times, but you can usually get by with Sparknotes on the book (won't be able to participate in discussion but will do fine on the quiz). He LOVES originality on the research paper. Take good notes. He may scare you first to get the weaklings out of the class, but he's really enjoyable after that. His humor is unique!

I took one of his special topics courses, which means it was all the stuff he is most passionate about. This class was really chill bc of that. He just wants students to appreciate his passion. If he ever talks about some of the research he has done, it will amaze and inspire you. He remembers the students who have crazy debates with him the best.

His class is as hard as you make it. READ THE MATERIAL--there's a short quiz based on the given material pretty much EVERY TIME YOU MEET. They're easy points, but they can easily hurt you--he drops 2 or 3 of your lowest ones. Dr. Simmons is a straightforward guy and class is pretty laid back. Don't be intimidated--he's cool.

The best professor i've ever had and an extremely interesting class. I really do not like english but i absolutely loved this class. as long as you read the material, take good notes, and pay attention in class you will do fine. he expects a lot from his students but is not overly demanding. i would definitely take another one of his classes

For those who have him for English he may be good, but for BUSN 420 he is horrible. He is rude, tells us not to come see him because he does not have the time for us(he told us that in class), and is unclear in his grading. We have seen him twice this qtr. I believe they should have someone else grade for this class(like the teacher perhaps).

Absolutely the best professor I've ever had at Tech. He demands a lot from his students, but he matches those demands by demanding a very high standard of himself. He pushes you to be the absolute best scholar you can be. Because of his guidance (and pestering) I'll be pursuing my PhD in 19th century fiction.
