Bob Flynn had influenced my career in 1996. I still remember systems architecture class, and the way he taught it. He is an amazing lecturer and phenomenal human being. NYU-Poly should be proud of his presence!

Teaching style can be a bit boring, something he acknowledges due to the dry material, but tries. He gives A LOT of consideration to students which research the material on their own, and present it to him for questions. Dr. Flynn once stayed over an hour extra going over problems to ensure I understood a concept. He cares when YOU SHOW the effort

This guy can't teach at all. He grades as he wants. Even if you get good points in midterm and final both don't think you will get a good grade. He will grade according to his wish. He remains busy in the class discussing his personal problems and his past professional experience which nobody wants to listen. It was my wrong decision choosing this

I liked Dr Flynn. As several people have commented, he has - and communicates - a mastery of his subject. The biggest drawback is that he lectures at a "10,000 ft" level, but leaves it up to students to "get" the details on their own. For some students, this is asking too much. If you are a motivated student who is not grade-obsessed...

Prof. Flynn is simply the best. He is a leader at Poly and everybody respects him. He has done so much for the school and loves all his students. He is very knowledgeable and thanks to him, the Westchester campus of Poly is one of the best schools in the US. Having taken courses in Brooklyn too, I can say that Westchester is much better!

If you came here with a question, the answer is, "take the class." This guy uses what I call an old school teaching technique. He'll teach you the big picture and go easy on you on the details. Some people don't like that he teaches stuff that is 20+ years old. Learn to live with it, and get a book along the lines of "C++ for dummies."
