let me start off by saying, this is NOT my major, but if you attend class, go to his web site, you'll get it. Homeworks are difficult, same with the quizzes. He drops lowest quiz and test grade though. Overall good class compared to the other CSC classes offered here.

visual basic is cake compared to other programming languages like java or c++. if your not a cs or is major and you have to take this class then you might find it difficult. do all the assignments and get semi good grades on the quizzes and you won't have to take the final

Honestly, this class was very boring. The tests were too hard and there wasn't any study guides as to what we needed to study, or any hints at all. We were pretty much all on our own trying to pass. I really didn't like the professor's style of teaching. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

He's boring. But the great thing is attendance is SO not required in the least. I skipped every day but the days of the test, and it worked out fine for me! If you're looking to skip all the time and still get a good great, take it with him, it will do you good. Minor studying required for a C grade or so. I don't get comps though so.. maybe you do

If you are ever given an opportunity to have a class with this professor, PASS. He is extremely boring, and 90% of class time is spent on his tangents that he assures you "won't be on the test." They won't... but you'll feel dumber for having listened to him.

he is very smart, and assumes everyone is at least close to his level. the book was immensely boring, and it was necessary to read and completely understand it if you want to do well. he got frustrated cause most of the class was doing badly and tried to explain things better, but it didnt work as well as he hoped.

i feel bad for him kind of...he tries to get the class involved, but no one really tries anyways. but i guess because its kind of boring. i dont think the homework is bad and its really not that hard.its just boring so people dont pay attention to the material and then fail so it seems hard.i did that.but hes a nice person. and approachable to help

irwin is the smartest man i've ever met in my entire life...he knows WAY to much about everything - started proving things that we had no idea what he was talking about. overall very nice guy, willing to help out in any way, actually wants you to learn

This class is not for people lacking a math background. I enjoyed the class although it tended to be a touch watered down. He always had quizes graded quickly and organized class lectures. Concerned about students learning.
